chicken and mushroom soup followed by mince and onion with mash potatoes and lashings of gravey and to finish some nice jam sponge and custard all washed down with a nice drink of cold milk. Starter: spicey chicken legs with fried mushroom, pawns and fried onion rings
main: basque lamb stew with mash potatoes
pudding: lemon cheesecake
with wine,cider or beers
theme: casual

For starter id have a beef and liver soup, dinner would be chicken and duck paste and for dessert a bonio and meat juice trifle with tuna paste cream!

Ok so a lovely cool summer evening it is then with a very local flavour:
To start, a mango and biltong salad
Then beer butt chicken done in the Weber with BBQ asparagus, jacket potatoes and fresh garden peas with mint.
Dessert would be a slice of my killer lemon & cheese cake with a summer berry sauce (my boys would insist on creamy vanilla icecream as well)

Main...... fillet of beef stroganoff with rice and seasonal veg
dessert....key lime pie with fresh cream
cheese and biscuits
Drinks... champagne, white and red wine and port for cheese!!

I think I would go Japanese for my menu.

To start, I'd do a tempura platter, then for main a beef curry men, and for dessert, sweet potato ice cream (ok, so I don't know how to make ice cream, but i DO like to eat it!).

For drinks you can have a Kirin Ichiban, a Sapporo, OR, a Strongbow in a champagne flute, because that's just how they roll in Japan!

Oh yeah, and dress code is SUPER-KAWAII! Hello Kitty accessories greatly appreciated.

I'm upset its not a dinner party with actual staffies. If it was they can all have steak and a glass of Baileys. (Well Romeo likes Baileys...)
If I was cooking for people I would make chicken soup with kanaidlach then the broiled chicken with potato latkes and vegetables. For dinner I would serve Jewish cheesecake, unless of course the guests were Kosher then I would serve mango sorbet and fruit salad.
To drink there would be water, grape juice or a soft drink.

Starter: stuffed mushrooms
main: Tom Yum and fried sea bass
pudding: lemon cheesecake
with a 30 year old scoth and a cohiba
theme: thai preferably on the beach in Phuket

Oh Jade 'chicken soup with kanaidlach' ...I love that. Nothing like proper chicken soup! I was once engaged to a Jewish guy and Sabbat dinner was always a highlight for me. Extraordinary food!
