Re: Kony
intense. i've known of him for a while. he's as evil as they come. here's hoping he's caught and made to answer for his crimes.

Re: Kony
nice counterpoint, Meg. i also believe there's a tendancy to over simplify. still, at the end of the day, Kony needs to be brought to justice. i'de like the Ugandan people to do this themselves. i don't believe America should be the world "police".

Re: Kony
yeah i agree. Im not against this campaign, raising awareness is great, but I don't think its America's job to go and get Kony, support the local initiatives

Re: Kony
sounds like we're on the same page here, Meg. as awful as this situation is, it's important that Uganda do this. raising awareness is well and good, but in a way it's condeseding to rush in like babysitters. Uganda is is a sovereign nation and can do this themselves. supporting the locals is fine, but in the big picture Uganda needs to deal with this.

Re: Kony
I totally agree, but America is scared that Uganda is corrupt and they won't actually do anything. America seems to think they are the only non-corrupt and "right" police system in the world.

Re: Kony
I agree. America needs to get off the high horse and encourage nations to take care of themselves. Crazy people and circumstances tear at my heartstrings too, but we have to remember that every time a country interferes it takes away some of the freedoms that people in other countries have. I can't stand people like Kony or any other abusive person. It think it is different when a country requests assistance than when we just unilaterally decide to "take care of it."
