Howling?
Anyone got any idea why Toby has suddenly started to howl recently? He will go out in to the garden and just sit there howling sometimes.

Re: Howling?
Is he ok in himself? If so I wouldn't worry.
Dempsey started doing this when he was about 8 or 9 months old - scared the bejaysus out of me cause I thought he was ill. But I just think he found he could howl, so he did!

How interesting! What does it sound like? Romeo used to 'sing' to his ball, it was the most awful, gargling, howling noise. He stopped doing it at about eight months I don't think he can howl now.
Sounds like he's just having fun. As long as your neighbours don't mind!

I wouldn't worry about it as long as the neighbors aren't complaining. Suki will still do this almost daily.

Re: Howling?
He's more than likely "announcing" his presence and seeing what response he will get if he is just walking out into the garden and doing it. I'd only get worried if he was doing it constantly while you are not at home as that would indicate seperation anxiety.
My boy howls too, and being husky staff cross he can really hit the high notes. thankfully my neighbours say he is mouse quiet when I'm not around.

Bailey does it when he goes into the garden aswell, 9 times out of 10 it's only at night he does it, don't think its anything to worry about tbh!
