However it is not necessarlily the case that the more mixels you have the better quality of picture/image you will have. The higher number of mixels would give you the option of creating a larger image.

I won't be selling my Nikon D700 just yet.

Was reading about that earlier, I almost peed my pants. Unless you're gonna go large, it's pretty useless.

My phone is ancient I would be happy with 1 megapixel

look at the size of the memory card you would need to save your daily pics, 1 walk would probably wipe out anything known to man now

I was told a while ago by a colleague that is mega into digital photography , once you are over 6MP it's unseless unless its on a tripod
