who chose who?
Just wondering how you chose your dog. Did your choose your or did you choose it? With my previous staffies they all chose me ( they came to me when I was sitting on the floor!) With Elwood I chose him from the kennels.

Re: who chose who?
Lemmy we found on the dreaded guntree i am afraid. he was the only pup left so we couldnt leave him poor love. glad i didnt now he's my boy. Lottie aprently didnt like people but took to me and pete in a couple of minutes. cheeky girl barked at us but still came to us to take the treat from our hands but from what we have seen of her i think that was her way of picking us because in the beginning she wouldnt go near any human. she's my big silly girl.

Skye was the last of the litter as well although she wasnt last to go. Buster was our little rescue so we picked both but skye made buster welcome when he came for a try out so he stayed. so i guess skye picked buster lol

My dad bought Charlie for me for christmas 2010. I went to see them after he'd already picked him and out of 5 pups, he was the one that came straight over to me and settled in my lap
It was lucky that he is the one that my dad picked because all of his brothers and sisters died within a month
Charlie was obviously just meant to be mine

Romeo was the biggest pup and pick of the litter. We were torn between him and his sister (same colour) but his sister was shaking and I didn't want a timid dog. The people that bred him were planning to keep him but we twisted their arms.
We didn't even look at the other four pups! I only had eyes for Romeo. He didn't stop licking us and ruined my new necklace!

Re: who chose who?
We met Sisko and Kasidy just after they were born and over the weeks they were the two of the eight pups who came to see me each time. Sisko moved in with us but i used his sqealing as an excuse to go back for Kasidy they were also the last two left and i was only supposed to be dropping off newspapers not adopting puppies.

Re: who chose who?
The breeder chose both for us even though Frosty was really a rescue. She thought he would go well with us and sent him to us after fostering him for a few weeks. I couldn't be happier. We spent a lot of time telling all about our family and situation and she found the perfect matches for us.

Wow, I remember that so well, it was heartbreaking! But Charlie pulled through, and look at him now!
I chose all my dogs except the first one, who chose me. She came up to the edge of the cage she was in (I'm ashamed to say it was a puppy farm) and stared at me, wagging her tail.
All the others I've chosen carefully by looking for dogs/bitches I've liked & then waiting for a litter. Dempsey was a little different because although he was by a stud I liked, I wasn't aware of the litter until another breeder pointed me in the right direction.

We chose Suki. The breeder had about 25 pups or so and we looked at them all over about 2-3 hours. Suki seemed to have the best tempermant so we picked her.

Re: who chose who?
We had known marley since he was 8 weeks old, but at that time he belonged to my sister in law and she really had no idea about puppy's or staff's, any way a few month's down the line she and her oh decided to move away but the house was smaller and not big enough for her lab x staff and marley to live together. out of the blue my father in law rang one night and asked if we wanted a dog! well we were a bit taken back and asked if he'd found a stray or something. he said no if you want marley i'll pay what she had payed for him and lend you the money for vets fee's and you just pay us back weekly. we didn't need to confer, the smile on my face said it all. with that he hung up and less than twenty minutes later marley was at his new home with us. so not sure who chose who, but damn glad it worked out we have him

Re: who chose who?
Kita and I chose each other in a way.
I was intending getting a dark brindle or black male pup and so I went to view the litter of 4 males and one female. There were 3 big tiger brindle, a small dark female and this really little dark male. The bigger pups were really hounding the 2 little ones and as I watched the female spun around and gave them a piece of her mind and they all ran away. Sort of reminded me of someone else I knew.
She was also the only one who came over to me for a nosey.
I really had my heart set on a male so I drove home, but the only thing I could think of was this little female staffy pup. By the time I got home I knew she was the one and rang the breeder but no answer. I hardly slept that night thinking someone else might have already taken her.
I had to work the next day and finally managed to find time to ring them mid morning and thankfully she was still avail. So I raced there after work, paid a deposit and picked her up 3 days later. The rest is history.
As for Izzy, we went to look for a replacement dog for the JR as Kita was really struggling. I said to Trevor "we're not getting the first dog we see". I don't know why I bothered as she had us both melting the minute we saw her.

Re: who chose who?
I believe we get the dog we need. I had decided to get a new Staffie and was just about to leave it a few more months when one of the breeders I had contacted told me she was coming up from the farm and could bring the little male I was interested in up with her. I didnt even think about it and the rest is history.

Re: who chose who?
Russell was one of two pups in the litter who came up to me when I met them, they were both males (which we wanted) and both very cute and wanted to play with me - the rest of the litter were still asleep. I almost chose the other boy but they said he seemed to be the most dominant one and was always getting into mischief - Russell was next in line, we figured he was going to be less trouble + he was the only brindle in a litter of black brindles

Re: who chose who?
We wanted a girl dog, so from Violets litter, we had a choice of two pups. Both were lovely wee pups, but Violet was the one that snuggled into the crook of my arm whilst the other one plodded about the ground not interested in us, and that was the decision made! It's funny, because we didn't even want a pup and were originally looking for an adult dog, but as soon as we saw the ad for the litter, we wanted her - we had to drive about 200 miles round trip to see her, then again to pick her up, even though there were loads of pups much, much closer to home. For whatever reason we had a good feeling about it
