Dog collectors ???? Empty Dog collectors ????

Post by Gazagem Fri Feb 24 2012, 13:51

The couple i got Buster from at the time had a 3yr old boxer girl, another staffy boy 11 months and they had just sold busters brother from the same litter. they are not his breeders.
After i had buster they informed me that they had sold the other staff and were just going to keep to the boxer.
A few weeks later they saw us on a walk and told me they had just got an 8 week old collie from working stock (we live in a town and i never see them out with the boxer let alone any of the others). Today i had a knock on my door asking for advice on a gsd pup they had just got, i asked about the collie and the reply was she had got aggressive towards their young boy. This new pup they have is only 8 weeks old.
this has all happened in the 2 months i have had buster
I just feel so sorry for the dogs they get but they wont listen when i say about training walking etc
Buster has so many nervous issues i just dont know how to get through to them about just sticking to the boxer who has DA issues as well
Sorry just needed to get this off my chest at wits end

Why get one dog if you can't look after it, let alone an entire collection angry

(hope you don't mind but I moved the topic)

What idiot buys a working collie with young children and expects it to make a good family pet? Collies are known for being nippy with children, its their herding instinct.
It takes a lot of work to make one a good house pet.
Those people shouldn't have any pets, dogs are not bloody pokemon to be traded off.
Can't believe people like that can have kids. Great example, teach the child to throw living creatures away like toys.

my dad has always had boarder collies and never had problems, they were walked for over an hour at a time, but always made great pets if given enough stimulation, when bored and under exercised they can get nasty

That exactly what i said when they told me they got the pup then to just expect it to behave omg i feel i have now given buster the chance of a good life and just hope the other dogs they have got rid of have a better life where they are
I will be certainly keeping my eye on them with this gsd pup as i know in 2 or 3 months time its going to need a new home hopefully with someone better

Yes, I had Border Collies many years ago. Fantastic dogs as long as they get exercise & training every day; destructive & quite aggressive if they don't.

I'm afraid GSDs are the same.

I know before we got Skye we had 3 gsds so know all about their needs that's why I think they will only have the pup for a couple of months

Why do people do things like that? Don't they think that pups are living, breathing beings?

Some people seem to have a revolving door on pets... you see them advertising and purchasing different animals week in and out on some of the local trading and facebook groups... it's so sad. I've seen a few get banned but they crop back up under another name. Surprised(

Any chance of reporting them? Are they making money selling dogs, if so inform the taxman.

When I saw this I just felt ill she's a lovely girl and I absolutely adore gsds just 2 staffs is enough for me atm
Problem is she wees when excited and in her crate she has at least been socialised a bit as she has meet both mine ( buster was nervous of her though )
I don't know anyone who can get her
The worst bit is I said if they thought about giving her up to let me know but have they no
Once she's gone though I hope they don't ever get another pup

But you know they will. The only way to try and stop people like this is to report them.

Get evidence and report to your local dog warden or RSPCA, but you must have proof!
