He has a lovely wee face Although, it'll only be a matter of time before he is zooming around taking out your knees with that chew!

Nice pics ! I'm forever buying that size rawhide!! Lasts about 3days then its gone!! Just found a large rawhide ring (circle) that lasted a week and was only 2.50 instead of 6pound for them big ones!

Re: Troy - New Pictures 07/03/12
We used to get those kind of raw hide chews for Rocky but he only wanted to take them outside and bury them. He would never eat them.
We just get the small hide twists now which he is OK with and will eat.

Thanks. Yeah, pretty big chew stick! Think it was only £8 at Pets At Home. I take it off him though because I'm sure he would finish it in one sitting!
I gave him a small one the other day and he didn't stop until it was gone. Should I limit is normal food a little when he has treats like this?
Herman's Human wrote:he's adorable btw; nice crate. looks perfect for him.
Thanks. I have crated him a few times now, cries for a bit but is relaxed when I get home and his bedding ain't chewed or anything.
linzy wrote:He has a lovely wee face Although, it'll only be a matter of time before he is zooming around taking out your knees with that chew!
Haha. He already butts the radiators and scrapes all the landing walls going up the stairs with it!
Ty wrote:He is gorgeous. he has a sweet face.

So many different combo's of colours, I'd love one of each! But once you bond with a dog, you don't care in the end.

Yeah, I can imagine they don't take long for a Staffy to finish! Troy doesn't stop! Do you limit his normals meals when letting him go wild on such a large rawhide?

Troy eats them, but he doesn't like it being out of site so carries it around everywhere lol

Yeah seems to be. I shut doors behind me every now and again so he knows it is normal. Sometimes he'll just start playing with a toy, but still moans a bit. He is fine in his crate over night too. Stops him getting restless and roaming around.

Re: Troy - New Pictures 07/03/12
Thanks.
I just noticed in the earlier pictures that the little bad patch on his face looked red. It seems to be drying / healing over now.
Hopefully the change of food has contributed and we can clear up his skin issue.

I've still got the ball! He likes to shred things to bits and there were pieces of the ball all over the house so I took it off him!

Hahaha. Well we never really 'found it', some boys gave it to us after he already snatched it. They said it was almost flat anyway haha.

Re: Troy - New Pictures 07/03/12
Thanks a lot everyone.
Hopefully I can get some more muscle put on him in regards to his rear. Looks a bit slim to me, got a long lead now so he can do some more running when playing fetch.

Re: Troy - New Pictures 07/03/12
I actually thought he had quite a big bum! Are you not going to let him off the lead? You should take him to an enclosed field and see what his recall is like. Make sure its not too big and check the fencing. The first time I took Romeo out I had read all these things about how you shouldn't let the dog off the lead till it was a year old. I just thought 'sod it' and let him off. He just gambled around and was fine. It was a lot harder to get him to recall when near other dogs-so it would be best to put him back on lead when you see other dogs and train him in a quiet field.

I used the long lead today but never kept hold of it. Threw sticks and balls for him etc and his recall is really good. Just not if he see's another dog or a person on a bike lol. He is just interested in what things are a lot.

Troy sounds like a typical staffy to me..Winston is normally great with recall..BUT if something catches his eye it can take abit longer than usual!

Re: Troy - New Pictures 07/03/12
Longer than usual in an understatement..it would mean me running after Troy
