Hellooo after a looooooooong time
Hello all
Due to a few "family" problems ive not been on for a while
and im 1 staffie down my lovely boy Zero had to be rehomed as some of you may remember I started to get a few destructive problems with him which went quite far (including a ft hole in the kitchen wall ) but he started to get aggressive which resulted in me getting a few bites but I still kept working with him until I recieved a bad bite to my leg, and a few weeks after that he turned on my 2yr old daughter hes been living with a lovely man for 6 months now and is getting on really well has even cut down on the destruction, I still miss him to this day but I know hes looked after, and we keep contact.
Mazda is still going strong well strong as a 11yr old goes, She had a mini stroke, ear infection and lumps removed 2 weeks ago which was triggered by "we think" a fall she had down the stairs so stairs r now off limits and shes recovering very well.

Re: Hellooo after a looooooooong time
the dog should of been put down if he bite you and went for your kids , you just pass your problem onto someone else.
chewing me sound like he was bored and untired dog.

Sorry but got to agree, as hard as it is he should have been put to sleep, if anything happens in the future its going to be hard for you to live with and he could really hurt someone, could be someone else's young child. It sounds to me like he
could have some kind of neurological problem especially with the behaviour escalating.

Hi Nikki, and Welcome back.
I wondered where you had gone. I used to love your pics of your Mazda and Zero.
It sounds like you've had a bit of a roller-coaster ride.........
I look forward to catching up with you and your story in coming times.

I'm new to the site but nice to hear your back and your avatar looks great
I'm so sorry to hear about you having to let Zero go but as long as he's settled somewhere else and content at least that's not one major worry but it's such a shame how he turned
I do feel sorry for Mazda though having a mini stroke...i saw a staff at the vets a while back which had 3 strokes and was really weak on the right side so terrible to see.
I really hope she recovers well for you

Re: Hellooo after a looooooooong time
Hi and welcome. I think you did the right thing with Zero. I dont think that putting an animal to sleep is the answer at all. Rehoming may be more dificult and should be tried first. Maybe his new family is just a better fit.
Sorry to hear Mazda is not well. My old boy had a mini stroke but went on to have a good many years after.

Hi to all the peeps i dont know lots of gorgeous new staffies
Zero went to someone I know who knew his whole story, PTS was concidered but when a friend said he had the perfect home for him I felt it fair to give my boy a chance, hes a single bloke with no children or visiting children, Zero goes to work with him every day and is coming along great.
He knows EVERYTHING about my boy and did when he offered him a home. Hes now happy.

Re: Hellooo after a looooooooong time
Hi Nikki;
Im new to the forum so I haven't heard your whole story, but it sounds like you've been through a tough time. Hopefully its now on the up.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it sounds like you've done the right thing by Zero. Not all people re-home because they can't be bothered to be a responsible owner.
My parents had to re-home 1 of their 2 dogs last weekend and they are still heartbroken. Needless to say the realisation that a dog who had been born in our family home and had previously been a delightful young man, was now howling the house down, marking everything, attacking his mother & biting my brother. He is now the only dog living with an active retired couple on their rural farm and all of his symptoms have just melted away in 7 days. I believe that just like Humans, one person may love their own company & the others a busy home...
....Respect to you for being a conscious owner and hello from me & Heston xxx

Re: Hellooo after a looooooooong time
If a dog bite the owner and try to attack a kid then it need putting down before someone else get hurt.
these type of dog are giving our dogs a bad name!

Re: Hellooo after a looooooooong time
I'm not saying he couldn't be bothered with the dog, not knowing the whole story but what I have read he did try, but I would hate to have to live on egg shells hoping these dogs never came into contact with children .... sorry thats not typical Staffordshire Bull Terrier temperament and that is what is giving them a bad name.
No one wants to see a dog pts but sometimes it has to be done saves a lot more suffering in the future. Good luck anyway hope
it works out for zero.
