Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
Not a racist rant, not against foreigners coming to my country, not against these people coming to work here and bring different skills.........but the article below is an absolute joke!

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
That's like you guys deciding to come to Aus to live and then asking the government for funding to head back home to visit family members.
If you move to another country, then surely that is the sacrifice you make leaving the family behind.

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
that family from somewhere africa was getting like £5000 or something like that in housing benifits living a in a posh house in the middle of london it's a disgrace!!
Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
argh!! I don't understand!!!
every one thinks Australia is such a racist country (apparently)
but is it racist to turn down a request like that? its ridiculous to expect that tax payers pay for your flight home - whose choice was it to come here in the first place?
honestly I am happy for migrants to live here and I'm happy for a multicultural country (hell my grandmother came from england so if I didn't accept migrants I would be a hypocrite)
but if all these migrants want to be accepted and treated equally (which will never happen because there will always be racist people in the world) then they should not expect special treatment like that!
rant over
plus here is a picture that really p****s me off!

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
If we went to their country,I doubt they'd do the same for us.
we should have big signs when entering our countries "Come in! It's free we'll give you anything you want!"

haha! well I'm only offended because its quite obviously made by a yank cos they gave themselves freedom and jesus (wha??? jesus?) when really the stereotype is a lot different... if you are going to make a map of stereotypes do it properly! and include your own country in it!

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
I will take the unpopular opinion here. They aren't getting a free plane ticket but simply a tax break. Having spent a number of years in Muslim countries and seeing first hand how women are treated they deserve some help.
There are plenty of other people on welfare or catching tax breaks like drug addicts or familys with 6 or more kids where no one in the house has had a job for a decade that are much less deserving of help IMHO

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
You raise a really good point Jstaff. I am fairly big on the whole karma deal. I think if there is someone in need we should try and help... I can understand why it would aggravate... but like you say, how many people just continue to breed so they can keep collecting welfare and how many meth programs are there, how many people just refuse to get jobs because they can't be bothered as the benefits of getting government support far outweigh getting a job (over here it's discounted doctors, prescriptions, travel, rent household bills etc) ... I am far from being a hippie (for lack of a better description) but karma, for me it's all about karma!

I'm sorry, jstaff, but I don't agree. One of things you do when you move to another country is leave relatives behind. If you want to visit, then you pay for it yourself. If you can't afford it, then you stay put! If we went to live in their country, do you think they would pay for us to visit distant relatives?

Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
speaking as an American, i disagree, jstaff. if the women are treated badly enough to leave why go back? helping the needy is good, but not hand outs (tax break or other) subsidising personal travel. people choose to come, not forced. IMHO, if homesick enough to visit, pay for it personaly. if regret leaving family, go back and stay. either way it's a choice anyone who moves to another country makes.

I moved to Finland from Australia, i havent seen my family in 3 and a half years, and i'm working to save the money to see them, on my own!
and in refrence to the pic. looks like i went from living in the land of racists (eyes must be rolled there) to living with vikings and good kind of porn.... havent seen any of that so far -_-
Re: Pay for our trips home - Islamic Women's Welfare Association
that's it exactly. missing family must be hard, but still a choice. thanks for the post TarynRomeo wrote:Dann wrote:That's like you guys deciding to come to Aus to live and then asking the government for funding to head back home to visit family members.
