She Passed!

Bella had her puppy assessment on wednesday night...and she passed! I really didn't think she would, she gets really distracted by all the other pups but she was great. The only time she doesn't get distracted at all is her sit/stay she has that one perfected lol. So proud of her and signed her up for the next level starting next week
I was advised by the trainer to be firm with her when she starts to retaliate to another dog snapping at her. She had taken me by surprise a couple of times when she turned from a little wriggling ball of happiness into a tazmanian devil on the end of the lead Looking forward to the next lot of classes now.

Thank you I was so chuffed, I really expected them to say she wasnt ready yet but she must have known it was her test lol. Really can't blame her for the retaliation thing either, there was a yorkie there that had been snarling and snapping at every dog for the last 3 weeks, the first 2 weeks she just lay down and ignored it without being told and waited for the commotion to end but I think by this week she'd had enough.

I don't see how the trainer can tell you to step in & stop retaliation - after all, if she doesn't start it then she's just defending herself.

I know, and she did put up with it a couple of weeks so she has more patience than me lol. There was another article in our local paper last week about out of control staffies so I'm not sure if they wanted to just highlight that I need to be in control. I think I come across as a bit soft with the dogs at times. The trainers did love Bella, they have staffs in their family and said a few times how friendly she is

Thank you soo proud of my baby. I think its the improvers next, its a continuation of what they have done and building up better recall and heel work, longer stay and I think starting offlead work.
