Do you allow your dog on your bed at night?
On or off the bed?
Just wondered what peoples thoughts are in relation to letting their dog on the bed and if they allow it?
I personally don't as a rule of thumb but do on some occasions.

Dempsey isn't allowed in the bed. He's sometimes allowed on the bed, but not to sleep - he has his own bed!

Re: On or off the bed?
Ledger usually sleeps on the bed but will curl up in the bed on the pillow next to me every once in a while. Last time he did this he did his usual spiral down the bed through the night to tuck into my back or behind my knees but he was under the covers and had more than a little bit of a panic when he woke up and couldn't find his way out

We let Jess on the bed but when it comes to going asleep she has to get in her bed! Then at around 3am she sneaks back onto the bed and crawls up inbetween us!

Re: On or off the bed?
Bella sleeps on the sofa at night, and comes in about 3 not all the time. Only reason I dont let he sleep on the bed all the time is I could not put up with the snoring!
Re: On or off the bed?
sasha starts off on top of the bed then in winter time you'll be woken up half way through the night cos she's got cold and is getting under the quilt taking most of it with her!staffy snuggles their the best

Re: On or off the bed?
Cuddles by staffys are the best, this week Bella has started to bring the post to me in bed, I now need to train her to do tea and toast!
Re: On or off the bed?
Nope, the bed is MINE and so is the rest of the furniture.
None of the dogs, mine or guests are allowed on the furniture since that's only for the Alpha dog in my house...which is me.
I also find it a little disgusting =/

I think disgusting is a little strong, my bad.
what I mean is, I would be scared sharing the bed with a dog, even my own.

Yeah, I am, because I've seen first hand what's happened.
Friend was sleeping in her room with her Staffy...in the bed under the sheets and she rolled on the dog...
She had a chunk of her face taken off and it was just about stitched back on...I have never seen so much blood and I just have never let any pooches near my sleeping arrangements since.
The furniture rule has always been there, however :3

Yep, it's always traumatised me.
But I shall not bash anyone's preferences :3 All is well and I can see the appeal.
I'm kinda dogless at the moment anyway =/

Re: On or off the bed?
Saxon usually sleeps in his kennel, but we let him sleep in the bed every now and then. I just say, "it's time for bed!" and he runs over to his kennel and curls up. I've found that he has an attitude the day after he sleeps in the bed, though. Almost like he thinks he's king or something. You have to ask him a couple of times before he does something.

They are on the bed with me now all snoring away as I type this out! We let them on a few furniture pieces and the bed at bedtime.

Re: On or off the bed?
Romeo loves to sleep on the bed-when i'm not in it!
In the morning he does a flying body slam onto the bed to say good morning to me. Its like being landed on by Bowser.
Sometimes in the middle of the night the cat will come in and sit on my head or chest so i can't breathe. I think shes trying to kill me...

Re: On or off the bed?
We don't let Mia on any furniture, but on a weekend we do let her on the bed for cuddles in the morning! She wriggles around so much tho that it never lasts very long, maybe I'm too paranoid but I'd worry that she might fall or jump off and hurt herself!!

Yes Rocky sleeps on the bed at night. We have to get permission from him if we want to get in the bed

Sorry but that made me chuckle, I had a cat that used to do that!
Both the boys sleep in bed with us, but they're such cover stealers that we actually went out and bought another kingsize duvet. It's just a big cuddle party. Louie sleeps on the end of the bed, and Tigger sleeps on his back, upside down inbetween us like a little human. It's gonna be hell when he's big. Only thing that annoys me is the dogs lick my face when I'm asleep because they're not allowed to do it when I'm awake!

Re: On or off the bed?
Roxy sleeps downstairs on the sofa at night.
During the day if she comes upstairs with me she jumps straight on the bed and its not easy to persuade her to move again!!
The staffy we had before Roxy always slept in the bedroom on her own bed and we always said never again as she snored like a wild pig all night long!
