Re: peed on the sofa
Suki did this once and my bosses wife sat in it It was from being overexcited because we had a bunch of people over for a BBQ when she was 5 or 6 months old

well I hope it is just exitement but yestersay when he peed on the rug he was calm and just came and peed so it wasnt exitement. i was wondering may be he wanted attention from my partner because he was working all day and didnt give as much attention as he could when came back.

Sounds like territory marking...

Re: peed on the sofa
Don't think it is marking at that age. Have there been any changes in the house or life recently? I have had it happen when I brought a new comforter home for the bed or changed furniture and they are weirded out. I have learned to do things a little slower and reassure the dogs so they aren't stressed. However, sometimes at that age, they simply forget themselves like a young child does at times.

Re: peed on the sofa
Winston was pretty good as he got older and when he wanted to do a widdle he would stand at the back door.. but when he was about 8 months old he was in the kitchen and just squatted and widdled with no warning! Don't know what that was about!
At 3 months I guess accidents do happen! Their bladders can only take so much!

Re: peed on the sofa
yeah I think it is just that he is only 3 months, Russell wasn't fully trained till about 4- 5 months, so you may just have to be patient and keep on with the training and putting him out all the time.

Re: peed on the sofa
at 3 months they are still puppies, and they can have accidents, hopefully there will not be many more

Re: peed on the sofa
Thanks for your opninions. I keep an eye on him and I think it is just accidents. yesterday he peed on his own bed as well, and we were outside before this.

Re: peed on the sofa
I'd go back to basics - take him outside regularly & praise him when he wees outside. If he has an accident inside, don't say a word just take him outside & clean it up with a non amonia cleaner.
If it continues you might consider a trip to the vet to rule out cystitis.

Re: peed on the sofa
At 3 months old he is still very likely to have accidents especially if he is over excited due to the fact he is still learning the basics of everything including toileting.
If it has suddenly happened, have you noticed a change in his urine ie colour is darker and it smells worse??
If you have he might have a UTI but your vet would have to check him over for it.
It could also be territory marking even tho he isnt strong enough to * his leg he can still mark his territory.
Any help you need gimme a shout
