Oh what a fleathing Empty Oh what a fleathing

Post by Guest Mon Jan 30 2012, 10:51

As mentioned last week, I had Tyson at the vet for his shots and to check on apparent discomfort he was having with his bottom. So dewormed and glands cleared. Noticed yesterday that he still seems to be uncomfortable and has been trying to bite his rear end. He added a whinging to the mix this morning sor off we go to the vet again. I see the same vet and explain what is going on and suggest that the bone he may or may not have swallowed last week could be causing a blockage.
Tyson stands perfectly still for a probing rectal exam not even flinching the poor dear. A little into this undignified probe, the assistent who is helping to hold Tyson points out lots of jumping fleas all around his rear - plain as the nose on your face!
The vet went red as did I since it should have been the first thing we checked for. They more than likely came from the cats (who spend a lot of time out doors) So, Tyson treated for fleas and a good dose for each cat in hand - it turned out to be just a flea thing. She was so embarrased she did not charge me for the consult!
