Africa Photos (very photo heavy)
Sorry wasn't sure where to post these but for those who asked, there is a lot but I have picked my favorites from the 2000 photos I have... I think I did pretty well to get down to under 50!
starting with my time at Home Sweet orphanage and in the town of Masaka, Uganda.
Angela, 15 years old scaling some fish for lunch
little Jovita who asked to come home in my suit case
we found chameleons!
baby Nicholas
Now for the Safari! this is a small amount of the animals we saw!
Kilimanjaro and elephants at Amboseli NP, Kenya
electrical dangling wires to stop the elephants getting into the campsites
Ngorongoro Crater

Some lovely shots there. The little children certainly tug at the heart strings don't they. Love the beautiful coloured dresses the ladies were wearing great shot that.
There some stunning landscapes shots there too. Could never get fed up with looking at those. Never guess I am a photographer would you. You can never have too many photos. Keep snapping away. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Africa Photos (very photo heavy)
I started by thinking "I must mention that pic at the end", but then there were two, then three..........wow!
I have to say, though, that the orphanage pics were amazing. What a memory for you to look back on!

What amazing photos.......thank you soooooo much for sharing with us.
I'm off to work soon, but I know I will come home and have another look through these pics. They really are memories you will have to treasure for a lifetime.
Looks like a very rewarding ( and eye-opening ) trip you had.

wonderful pictures all around, nothing you would see over here lol. Did you go for missionary work/ or something of the sort? Seems very rewarding and wonderful, yet tough and difficult.

Re: Africa Photos (very photo heavy)
unfortunately I'm not a millionaire so I can't dream of adopting these rascals like Brad and Angelina. and I think I would have if I could have. infact... I had 2 picked out and my boyfriend had 3! hahaha kids we would like to bring home, but oh well, we can feed them for a few months instead
no worries bout the background pic, glad you like them

Hey Meg, I was wondering if you were looking at printing any of these? If you are, let me know, I work at a store where they can be and I am more than happy to do a bulk price for you. You deserve it after all the work you did over there. I have no idea how I am able to give you contact details... but let me know

Re: Africa Photos (very photo heavy)
oh cool! I'll have to have a look through and choose them. I will definitely be printing out a bucket load to put in a photo album, so I'll hit you up for that. you can find me on facebook if you want, full name is Megan Bury.

Re: Africa Photos (very photo heavy)
I think if I went back to do the same orphanage thing I would get a lot more organised and think a lot more about how the money should be spent.
because I had never been there and didn't know how it all worked I just handed over the money and let Robert (the owner) do what he wanted with it.
We bought mosquito nets with our own money (about $80 for 20)
we sort of got the feeling that Robert was also using the money for himself - which is fair enough because he doesn't work and has 2 children of his own - but we thought maybe he was living it up eating beef for tea (not a poor mans meal) where the kids at the orphanage only have beans and maize - meat on the weekends.
any way we did see the money put to good use also with school books, tooth brushes, big bags of food and soap and other things purchased, they also bought a generator (after we told him he should) in order to pump water from the well into their tank so that was great.
but the whole trip was unorganised so we spent most of the days sitting around or just playing with the kids, when in he-insight I should have planned some teaching lessons (seeing as im a teacher) and maybe some other activities and even outings to do with the children.
so to answer your question, I probably would do it again in future, but I would do it a lot differently!
