4 month old horror
Romeo turned 4 months old today, and recently he has been such a little HORROR. suddenly nipping when he never used to, no longer comming when called and destroying things. I love him like nothing else, but is this just... that time of life like the terrible 2's or am i slipping with my training and discipline?
Re: 4 month old horror
Is he teething? He's about the right age and the chewing might be him trying to get relief form the pain.
Try giving him some frozen treats and plenty of things to chew. The do indeed go through the terrible 2s but 4 months is a little young for that I think. When he does do it you just have to focus on the basics and be consistant and it will pass in time.

Sounds like the 2s as well even if it is a bit earlier than some. They usually hit that stage closer to 6 months, but I've seen earlier as well. Try the frozen treats but keep training. They all go through it. They also have the teenage testing years, but then they calm down and all is right as rain if you just are patient and consistent with the training.

Re: 4 month old horror
he's huge for a 4 month old. 11kgs, he's as big as this one bitch sbt we know, just less defined. maybe because he's grown so much. i guess i will have to just live through it
Re: 4 month old horror
I tend to think that 4 months equates to the terrible 2's and 6 to 8 months as puberty in humans

Re: 4 month old horror
I'd say he's teething, that would account for the sudden excessive biting/nipping.
Couple that with him getting stronger & more confident of himself & you get the terrible twos!!
Just keep the discipline firm but fair, and if necessary go back to basics. Oh, and plenty of things for him to chew on to ease the gum discomfort!

Bella is just over 5 months now and I've noticed that she does go through phases of being really well behaved then suddenly will start ignoring me and misbehave as much as possible and I start to think she actually likes the sound of "no!" and "eh eh"

yeah thats what i was starting to think. things he has been told no for and knows not to touch he does now. i will say no... and he will actually look at me, and slowly do it while i am telling him no.... so cheeky.
yeah he is teething, so of the teeth are missing and others are comming through. poor thing.
oh and yeah, romeo has no fear, which doesnt always work in his advantage though when it comes to well.. everything (but the vaccum of cause )
he's just been a right prat when it comes to recall lately, will not come unless he can see i have food in my hand.
