Post by chloexxx Thu Jan 26 2012, 22:30

Guy's thinking of going for a weekend to Prague and putting Chloe and Blake into dog about town .....

http://www.dogabouttownpethotel.co.uk/dog.html

If you click on the menu picture it gives you an idea of the place....

Now my issue, as I have the two Blake & Chloe I would not want them kenneled together unsupervised, but Ive been told if you separate them it causes problems when they come back together (fighting )

Not sure if this only applies to two same sex dogs or if it will effect my 2 boy and girl... when I say kennel together I mean in the same enclosure, they will both be in dog about town

What do you think is my best option..... Kennel together or not ?

Seperate. A weekend won't make any difference at all to how they see each other.

That's good news I will get them walked twice a day together, and enclosures next to each other..... Also pay for hydrotherapy session together one of the days..

Do you think they will be okay, never left them before

Hmm the dogs me thinks, we've just had to recruit a house sitter (actually an old guy we know not a pro) to come in and look after Tilly for a couple of days

Just out of curiosity , how much a night is it there, couldn't see any prices on their website which normally means its quite pricey, however, Tilly is a proper pampered pooch so probably suit her down to the ground

Hi Dave its 23 pound per night for a staffy which includes 2 walks per day and 1 hour play time...

Also they put on radio all night for them..

Its either this one or the Grove
http://www.grovekennels.co.uk/luxurykennelsuites.htm

At the Grove they had full couches to sleep on lol

My two are pathetically spoilt, hence need places like this lol

If you ask them to be kenneled opposite each other so they can still see each other it will help. but definitely seperate.

Dog About town looks like a great place nice and clean. Would they be feeding your dog the same as he would have at home ??

That place looks better than some hotels I've stayed in and I'm not kidding Laughing

In dog about town if you click on the picture of the menu it shows you

Breakfast for example is

Buttered toast and marmite.... porridge or cereal... Scrambled eggs

Dinner is tuna in spring water, fresh garden veg etc

Evening is complete with garden veg and warm gravy

Treats all day pigs ears, dentistixs etc

They get a warm drink at night of hot milk lol

Yea they feed when you would at home..... Also don't shut the dogs in till later then most at night

Just spoke to them got the prices wrong sorry guys its only 12.50 per night per dog or 23 pound per night for the two.... They sound really nice there, going to pop and see them this weekend with Chloe and Blake to see whats what... My two get some meat every night (corned beef or chicken roll) as their bed time routine, they are happy to continue with that also

Ben, I've checked out the location in Sacramento when they first opened - really nice place! - But my dog at the time was elderly and I opted not to use them ... ended up with a family member staying at my house. Smile

Pado, thanks! I appriciate it.

hi, i know what you are feeling about putting your dogs in kennels i had the same feeling at christmas when we went on our honeymoon, we had arranged a housesitter who was a family member but 2 weeks before let us know they were unable to.
we looked at kennels and didnt know which one to go for but i spoke to other ppl and they recommended the kennels i put them in, we felt so guilty when we turned up signed all the paperwork and she took them off and they were looking around for me and my husband. i wanted to cry all the way back home., but when i picked them up they were fine got on really well, only bug bear we have a german shepard who is sensitive to some foods and they changed the food she was on which disagreed with her tummy, tbh i was glad of the week away from the dogs maybe the break will be good for you and another way to look at it as its a holiday for them aswell.
