hello, new member
hello all, my names stephen, the wife is anita and our 11month old staff is marley, we live in oxfordshire, hoping it's not much longer. marley is larger than average according to the vet, although they admit he's pure, he is already just short of 19kg and not over weight, well exercised and not over fed or fed scraps only a few treats when he's done his thing outside. i've heard the term bully staff a couple of times lately, once from the local warden and once from the police(both of wich love the dog),they said it's the term used for a large staff that doesn't fit the kc standard, is this a real term? any way it will be nice to get to know you share pics and such. thanks

Hiya from me and Moo. Do you have papers for your boy? Its the only way you'll no if he pure breed and even then they may not fit in with the standard. If not then its a staffy cross, Moo is and she is 19kg which is a fine weight to be

Hi & welcome.
He sounds a big boy, but they do come in all shapes & sizes, and it really doesn't matter if he's outside the KC standard unless you want to show or breed him. Although there's no such thing as a bully staff, you can get dogs that range from a lightweight 'terrier type' to a heavyweight 'bull type'. I assume that's what they mean.
As Janey says, unless you have papers for him & he (and both parents) are registered with the kennel club, it's almost impossible to say whether he's a pure staff or not.
Whatever his ancestry, he sounds gorgeous & we'd love to see some pics!
