Blue Cross
Last night I watched undercover boss, it was about the Blue Cross.
During the episode there are discussions about the problem with Staffy Cross dogs.
I recommend that you watch this.
The video service is only available in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Re: Blue Cross
It won't play for me, but I take it that they go on about the amount of staffy crosses there are in rescue centres? I'm afraid we all know that.
Is this another way for you to say we shouldn't be supporting people with staffy crosses? I hope not.

Re: Blue Cross
I just watched the video as I had never seen it before. Thought it was interesting to see how the place works from behind the scenes. At least the boss has now made changes that will hopefully be kept in place.
It was funny how she got rumbled by the vet at the HQ in London. I thought that was going to happen much sooner.
I agreed that the reception staff should have more say in the running of their area.
Could she not have found a spare office somewhere to hand over the ashes of the poor ladys pet, or even the reception office and just close the door for a few minutes rather than do it in the middle of the already overcrowded reception area. A bit insensitive that.
A good video though and worth a look.

Re: Blue Cross
That was really interesting, i didn't know about the scale of dogs being abandoned/destroyed in Ireland
They don't go on about it they talked about it very sensibly and the impact the numbers are having on how they can help staffies and dogs in general at the Blue Cross. I wonder if they will do anything about limiting treatment to dogs that get neutered? and i wasn't sure if they meant all dogs or staffies?. Very interesting, thanks for the link, worked fine for me?.I think to watch it you need to register on the c4 site?.Caryll wrote:I take it that they go on about the amount of staffy crosses there are in rescue centres?

thanks for that oldsalt you have educated yourself i supose at the problem with them here and why we all reacted as we did. we adopt the crosses because you know what would happen to them. its not their fault and at least if us responsible owners take them then they can at least be happy. i quite enjoyed the program as a whole it would be interested if they did a follow up and to see if she keeps her word about things.
