Got Marley chipped waste of money

Just got marley chipped and what a waste of money that was, thieving vets... no extra tv channels, no internet access and he point blank refuses to play hookie xbox games!!! does fetch ball, eat and fart which he did okay before

plus side is i feel alot happier now and only noise he made was to complain liver treat was to far away for his tongue to reach on the table. also saw the biggest staff I have ever seen in waiting room... comparing its mass (guesstimat) it wasnt far off my brothers 55 KG Dobey... big boy was all staffy proportions apart from rear which was slightly bigger. massive head with big staffy smile and he was really tolorent of marley trying to play...took me 4 attempts to get pin into chip and pin machine must have been a cross with something but never got chance to ask, looked like a magnified staffy lol, sweet gentle thing as well.

unfortunatly mate its not free around here prices vary alot but vet gave a good deal as i went to puppy party. even rspca charge to rehome to cover costs of jabs and chipping which i guess is fair.
Im so happy though joking aside as his prey drive is nuts but he loves off lead running. joggers, leaves and deer beware. hes digging up the lawn like a good un and can open doors with 90 degree handles. caught him eyeing up the fridge so fitting child locks to that is next, only 22 wks as well!!!
Vets give me free health checks for a year and today he weighed in at 14.3 KG 58 cm hieght (forelegs to shoulders) 67cm chest and 46cm at smalllest of part of belly. has his daddies stature and looks but mummies build and temprament only thing they said was that ribs were getting hard to feel so now he's on two meals a day instead of three...thats gonna be fun

Mental! It's free everywhere here, we even have the dogs trust in Jolleys pet stores every day to chip for free!

Definitely not free here in Aus..........but worth paying the money for peace of mind

it doesnt cost too much anyway but as you say if you cant even get a decent channel then what a rip off

It's not free here :l I did enquire with the RSPCA and Blue Cross etc and they said I had to be on housing benefit. I wasn't on housing benefit even when I was unemployed!
Still annoyed the vet got his description on the chip wrong, hes described as fawn but hes red!

i rang the chip company to change the details for Lottie (rescue already chipped) they changed them no problem but when I got the paper work it said she was an Brown American Bull Terrier. Rang them again and hopefully they got it right this time just waiting for the paperwork again. She is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Boxer Cross. Brown Brindle and white. Big mistake on their part really the descriptions are totaly different.

Just ring them and they will change it.

We got Dora chipped. It was only £15 which I thought was very reasonable. Our vets also do free puppy check ups every month which is great as they get used to going to the vets.

Certainly not free in the uk, wish it was! The local pet store here has a vet centre which do it for £15, but they wouldn't do Dempsey cause he's a bull terrier & they were worried he'd bite! I got his done at the vets for £25. Mind you, like you say, it doesn't give me any more channels - I was hoping to get the sports channel free!

Im in northern ireland and it was free to me. The dogs trust do it for free in Jolleys pet stores, so if anyone is getting theirs done, have a look there!

not free in southern uk either, although just found a mobile company that come to you they frontline and worm as well bonus.. although i have already wormed her.. now to find out about spaying..

Chipping definatly worth while. Rocky was done by Woodgreen the animal shelter we got him from. They do all the dogs there before being given a home. Great idea.

yeah i would pay more for the peace of mind tbh...dont tell the vet his tags ok but that doesnt help if he's stolen or it somehow comes off.
