ahhhrg.....distruction
gahh. woke up this morning and romeo had eaten the wallpaper and a tiny bit of the dry wall in my RENTED apartment. i guess this means i have to have the wall paper replaced... i dont have the money for that kind of thing D:

Constantly, he's a walking demolition on four legs. Anything he can get his jaws around (and things he can't he'll still give it a good try!) is fair game as far as he's concerned. Last week was a 4 foot branch in the back yard, a few weeks ago he decided that tearing strips off one of the trees would be a good idea... 6 beds chewed, his kennel has gnaw marks and his mat for his kennel is always being dragged outside.

i could have cried when i saw what Romeo had done... wall paper is not cheep. his is the first time he has ever done damage to the home... normally it was only my shoes.
Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
So lucky with Moo she has never damaged anything that she shouldn't, now my first destroyed the entire kitchen!

Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
I moved into my rented house April last year, so about 9 months ago. I have to replace three carpets, I have to redecorate, I have to somehow sort out the chewed up skirting boards and the chewed up banistairs as a direct result of Charlie's chewing. Thankfully, in the last couple of months, he's not been too bad. He's more likely to chew on a shoe or kid's toy than my house.
Dogs eh?! Who'd have 'em????
Oh yeah, WE WOULD!!! Honestly, Charlie drives me cray sometimes, but I wouldn't be without him for the world

oh the best part of this wall eating is that. its where my bed is.. which mean, he had to jump up onto the bed with me while i slept and then probally sit or stand on me sort of while he did it..... oh he's a monster right now. 4 months old now and starting to lose his teeth... oh the hell i have to look forwards to
Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
Dempsey at that age would chew anything & everything - that's why we crated him!
Bandit was a horror! He also chewed a hole in the wall while I was out, and crates weren't the done thing back then!

Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
lemmy used to. we have a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop them getting up there cos they run round like idiots and lemmy still thinks all toilet roll is fair game and great to pull to peices. i went to the loo one day and locked the gate at the back of me so he couldnnt get up stairs. when ic ame down he had pulled the wall paper off the wall. he has had a go at a few painted walls in the house and has eaten chunks of the plaster. he hasnt doen it for quite a while though so i think he may be out of that stage now.

Thankfully I got mine a little older and skipped the teething stage. Oh destruction! Sorry about the walls. Sounds like he is finally in "that" stage. He'll get through it though and sooner or later calm down.

the other day we had to close him in my friends bathroom because they had very pricy stuff laying around and were we're going out for drinks. they have avery large bathroom and romoe had toys and bedding and food and water. we took everything out so he wouldnt destroy anything. when we got back we noticed we had forgotten the toilet paper. he has torn up 3 rolls... it was snow on the inside. eaten half a bar of soap and a full box of matches... soap and matches...i dont have a dog, i have a goat!

I can't even begin to count the cost of what Jethro has destroyed over the years...including nearly my marriage... ... but now I hope he is just too old to be bothered to go berserk.
So far Winston has mostly destroyed countless rolls of toilet paper.....

Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
romeo's fave thing is the used toilet rolls, you know the card part. he just minces them if i dont get them before him
Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
Sounds very like this house and Millie also loves toilet rolls. She's kept in the kitchen when we are out and she has wallpaper off the walls - not going to redo it until she's older. Currently she's into chewing the carpet we have a battle everyday with her. Oh and nearly forgot about the 3 holes in the mattress of our bed - on my side of course! Still love her to bits

Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
Pickle will eat the toes out of my socks if i leave them on the floor and has a habit of running round the house with an empty toilet roll if i dont keep the toilet door shut but other than that it sounds like im lucky in that department.
Seriously walls?

Re: ahhhrg.....distruction
Vlad is outside when we aren't home. He has free reign of the back yard. When we are home, we have a baby gate to restrict him going into other parts of the house. He stays where there is is just tiles, we don't have wall paper (yes, he would eat it!) and he sleeps in a crate. He is not allowed on furniture until he can behave a bit better. Slowly he's learning that inside is calm time... but we will see!

Tyson's as well. His destruction does seem to have abated as he is getting older though.

ah, see i cant block anything in my place, i have a studio apartment. he's not distructive daily... some times i think it is him trying to punish me because it tends to happen when i have done something he doesnt like
