If you could only read one author?
If you could only read one author for the rest of your life who would you choose? I would take Stephen King. He has published alot of books that are all pretty good. He may not be the best but he has a large volume of work that is consistantly good.

I am with you all the way jstaff. It would be Stephen King all the way for me. I enjoy Terry Pratchett too but it takes me a while to get into him and then I am hysterical until the book is done.
What is your favourite King book?

It would have to be Terry Pratchett for me too. I have read all of his (but not the childrens ones) and have now started on them again.

Elyne Mitchell was an Australian children's book writer! She wrote the famous Silver Brumby books; I've got all her books & I still read them, even now!
Robin Hobb is a sort of fantasy writer - very well written books.

Re: If you could only read one author?
Robin Hobb is awesome. The Liveship trader and The Golden Fool trilogies are my favourite of his
There is another fantasy writer, I can't think of his name and it's annoying the hell out of me. He wrote the assassins quest trilogy, and books about the dark elf Drizt. Anyone know who I'm talking about??
David Eddings is a brilliant fantasy writer too

I enjoy John Steinbeck too. I have read Of Mice and Men SOOOOOOO many times and The Grapes of Wrath is a great classic. Ohhh I like George Orwell too. My favourite poet is Robert Frost. I could keep rattling off favourite authors, the truth is I read way too much LOL.

P.S BIG HUGE fan of any author that writes on Utopia and Dystopia (So, yes, Thomas More, George Orwell, Margaret Atwood are some of the many favourites of mine!). It's such an interesting genre!
