Re: Chester - RIP
Hi All,
Thnx for the nice comments....This happened aout 12 months ago, but I've only just been able to look at his pics again, it still upsets me.
I still own Chester's mum & we bred her with an Aust. Grand Champion about 6 years ago & Chester was the 1st born & we kept him, he was a great dog, but when he started getting sexually mature, as I had 2 females as well, he was having problems with getting over stimulated, the 2 females would just keep licking him, we woke up on a number of occasions to find him with an erection that wouldn't go back. After having to take him to the vet a number of times to have it put back, the vet talked us into getting an implant that basically temporarily chemically castrates the dog. This worked fine & we had it done twice. After the 2nd time, we decided we wanted to breed him, so we let the implant wear off. This is when problems began, he was a full grown male, basically going through puberty & he began getting aggressive with one of my other dogs, then my partner and I split, which didn't help at all, he stayed with me but was aggresive with anyone that came to the house, he bit a number of people, including a Council Inspector, then my ex brought a bull terrier pup to the house and that just seemed to send him over the edge, he tried to kill the pup, attacked me quite badly & basically went crazy & had to be put to sleep.
The hardest thing I've ever had to do, I miss him so much....

Re: Chester - RIP
I argued with myself long & hard before I had him put too sleep, he was my boy, I'd had him since his mother gave birth to him, but I couldn't risk him hurting or killing someone else & as has already been said, a rescue centre would've had to put him to sleep as well, it's not a decision I made lightly, it broke my heart....maybe was better to abandon him to a rescue center not to put him to sleep is just my opinion poor dog chester r.i.p.

I'm sure you did what was best for everyone, including Chester.
He'll wait for you at Rainbow Bridge & will be the good dog you first knew.
