Rotten Weather....

I so didn't want to go out this morning, but you all know what dogs are like & Dempsey had to go, even though it took a lot of persuasion to get him out of the house & down the road to the park! The rain had stopped when we left, and the wind had died down a bit, so I was reasonably happy.

Well, we had a nice long walk, and just as I was think about turning back for home the wind suddenly picked up again & the heavens opened - hailstones as big as your fist! Well, ok, they weren't quite that big, more the size of grains of rice, but they still hurt ........I'm sure you get what I mean!

So, I shouted "Dempsey, come on lad, we're going home now....come!" expecting him to gladly turn back.

Turn back? He totally ignored me & carried on sniffing at a badger's hole!

"Dempsey, COME!" in my most authoritative voice....nothing.

I walked back & put him straight on the lead & had to drag him all the way home through howling wind & stinging hailstones!

What is the matter with that dog!

It's hot here! I can not wait for Winter! I've never enjoyed the heat. I loved living over there. The climate is perfect for me

I don't mind the cold too much, but I hate the strong winds & hail stones!

Yeah, hail stones do suck. We had a storm here a couple of nights ago (was still 36 degrees the next day and muggy as hell!) and my husband left the car out of the garage when he came home from work and had to get up at 3.30am to put it in as the hail was quite big, heavy and coming fast... only lasted a couple of minutes.

The weather has been horrible here the last few days, rain and high winds. Thankfully my 2 hate it so much they refuse to stay out and pull to get home

We have blue sky here in Bedford at the moment, but earlier very strong winds and rain not pleasant at all. I don't like it when it is windy as I do suffer from earache very bad. I did treat myself to a good hat and ear warmer just before Christmas though and have not suffered so far since, thankfully.

This is the headband earwarmer I wear under my hat. No more earache.

Dempsey's usually happy to go home & lie in front of the fire! Why he did it today I don't know...stupid, stupid dog!

I hate earache. You just don't know what to do to ease it and every movement makes it hurt even more! Do you take anything for it? Last one I had I got some codeine from the doctors & he recommended in future to use Solpadeine Max.

Caryll, no I don't take anything specifically for it just try my hardest to avoid getting it.

the last few days here the weather been pants!! i think builders are going have an good month around here.

Hail stones are no fun when you are out in it. Strange that Dempsey did not want to get out of it. I dont think I would survive in your climate. I love the heat and I like sharp, hectic thunderstorms that get it over and done with rather quickly. Africa suites me.

Fixing to storm in moments here, just in time for our evening walk so I guess we are staying in.

It was a struggle to get Cairo out in the garden to go to the toilet,nevermind going out for a walk lol. Dempsey is braver then her!

Ha ha! This made me laugh! Tinkerbell normally runs for home when it starts hailing or raining but if she sees or smells something exciting....to her anyway....then she is exactly the same as Dempsey was this morning!

That pic makes his neck look so thick! I bought a reflective flashing collar recently which should fit up to 50cm necks. It just fits!

He's gorgeous! He looks perfect! Vlad has a big neck and his head seems to be changing shape and getting big. He sometimes looks grown up, then he looks up at us (especially when he's been naughty) and he's a puppy all over again.

Randomly, we are supose to be in the middle of winter here in North Dakota, but we hit a record high today of 55. yay! the little bit of snow we had melted. Noramlly we are -55 (yes, 55 below zero and 50 feet of snow) ok that may be an exaggeration, but still it helps you understand. that we are enjoying it right now. with it being so nice I was hoping to get daisy out to play but with all the errands after work I didnt make it home till 430/5pm so it was practically dark and I don't feel safe out in the dark so we didnt get to play hopefully tomorow and then we can get some more recent and good pictures for you all to see
