Hi & welcome to the forum.
I wouldn't want to have anything to do with someone who is deliberately breeding a mini stafford, which seems to be what you're after. Why do you particularly want a stafford? If you want a smaller dog, what about a French Bulldog or a Boston Terrier?

Welcome i have poppy if you look on my pics she is nearly a year old she is a pritty small staffie i was quiet concerned when i first got her but she is a great dog just like my other one mika . Poppy may not be her full size yet but i really can not see her getting much bigger having a look at both parents will also give you a good idea.

She really doesn't look that small! Just not huge!

No, I wasn't sugesting that you wanted to breed from her, but that whoever you bought her from would be breeding the wrong type for the standard. If you are breeding for smallness, then you will sacrifice part of the breed 'type' that makes a stafford a stafford!
I'm afraid that a decently bred staff will be on or near the standard height/weight. You'll get small differences, of course, but nothing spectacular. I just feel that if you want a smaller dog, then one of the smaller bull breeds might suit you better.

........ no i don't want a smaller dog , i want a staffie i was just wondering how small people had seen them i will be happy with a bitch at the smallest end of the breed specs , my cousin who has had at least 3 of them allways wanted the larger end of the breed spec . i was just hoping for some one to say you can get bitches around maybe 12inches to 13 thats all . thanks anyway for the help , i will try somewhere else for an answer.Caryll wrote:merlin wrote:no i will not be breeding at all , my cousin has had a few staffies and i have grown to love them from him , it's just that i would like a staffie on the smaller side of the breed thats all honestly nothing more .Caryll wrote:Hi & welcome to the forum.

Re: hello
Just look at the parents - a pup will normally turn out like its parents & if they are both on the smaller side then the pups probably will be as well - but there's no guarantee.
By all means look elsewhere for an answer, but if people are going to be honest with you then you'll get the same answers I'm afraid. Anybody saying otherwise is either breeding specifically for small dogs (with the possibility of health problems) or telling you big fat lies!
