For the past 10 months ive had clio i cannot remember a single time when she hasnt had her tail waging even when shes sleeping shes dreaming of running chasing her ball, her whole face twitches all 4 legs are twitching like shes running and tail still waging, she is my first pooch but ive always been around dogs, freinds and families, and ive never known a happier dog but since yesterday theres nothing i can do to get her tail from between her rear legs and cheer her up shes been really down in the dumps, does anyone else have this every now and then with there dogs,,,,,,,,,,oh she is female !!!

Aw, maybe she's got the winter blues!

Is she neutered? Just wondered if she might be coming into season?

ok giving her age then I would say that she is possibly coming into season hun

Personally for me the health reasons outweigh anything else when we got Dhaysi spayed

yeah eating like its going out of fashion and drinking reguarly, i dont know about her history cause i took her from someone who wasnt treating her very well, it was a case of walking through the door and making a sharp exit no time for tea and biscuits

Close enough! Sounds likely.

I'd always allow a dog/bitch to mature before neutering. That way you get the best of both!

With a bitch I'd say any time after the second season, but at least 18 months old. A dog, any time after 18 months/2 years.

Seasons are only roughly every 6 months - they can vary tremendously with each female; anything from every 4 months to every 8-10 months. ^ months is just the average, although I'd say most bitches are every 6 months.

If she's really distressed with a season you might want to consider spaying. She's certainly old enough. It's a personal decision, though - for example, I never neuter my dogs & the only problem I ever had was an open pyometra with my first bitch. That was treated by spaying & strong antibiotics & she recovered well. I've had no other non-neutering related problems with any of the others (9 of them so far). Others will neuter as a matter of course after the 2nd season, others before the first (that's one I totally disagree with).

Just read everything you can & make a decision from that. Steve's added a very informative piece about the pros & cons here...

Think we have the same thing going on, I am wondering if Tinkerbell is coming back into season too. She has gone the other way though, and is over excited and playful at the moment. Not her usual self at all, very energetic and springy lol!
