Hellooooo
Hi I am new to this. I have 4 Staffies 2 boys called Myles and Marley and 2 girls called Maisy and Milly. Maisy is 7mths old I have never had an problems putting her to bed as they all have their own crates but during the last3/4 weeks when i put them to bed Maisy has started to bark and she doesnt stop. I've tried ignoring her and even walkin her before bed and she still barks.
Anyone got any suggestions pleaseeeee.
Thanks shaz xx

Re: Hellooooo
Hi and welcome. 7 months seems to be a stage they go through when they test their boundaries. Be firm and stick to the basics, they do get over it as you well know.

Hello and welcome aboard
To answer your question....from my experience with Jack when he barked non stop whether outside or in....I'd throw a cup of water on him and he'd stop instantly. I did that solid for a week and now we don't have anymore issues. You'll have a wet floor/carpet but it is only water.
That advice I got from an experienced dog trainer.
Looking forward to seeing some pics of the 4 M's

Re: Hellooooo
I was having the same issue with Monty, but he is only 4 months ... I could NEVER get him into bed, when I did, he would bark and bark and bark, to the point it started to wear us all thin ! We tried the ignoring approach but it never worked, and he would bark up until midnight some times. I took this tip from Caryll on here, and whne he goes into his bed now, we don't hear a single bark from him ... feels like a miracle actually as I never thought we would get passed this awful bed time routine !
'Every so often put some treats in there without him seeing & then tell him to 'seek' or 'find' and point towards the crate. If the treats are right at the back he'll go in. Then shut the door for just a few seconds & let him out again.'

Thankyou I will try that. She has been fine going to bed up untill now. I dont even know why she has started to bark when she goes to bed. she just doesnt stop. the longest i ave been able to ignore her is till 12.30 then i end up gettin up i lose her out then she curls up in a ball on the floor in the living room and goes to sleep, but i do love em all in the own way they are all different.

Re: Hellooooo
Hello & welcome!
See, the problem there is that she's got what she wanted!
Is her crate covered? If not, try draping an old curtain over three sides so that it feels safe & cosy. It'll also block her view of everything around her so she'll be less distracted.

Yes I know I shouldn't give in but then she doesn't stop. The other night she was barking till 3am. The sides of her crate is covered. I am begining to wonder if its because I've had 2 move her crate away from her sister's crate 2 make room for a larger crate 4 Marley. So I am thinking about moving it bk and tryin that.
