Poorly River :(

hi all hope you all had a splendid new year :X

ok River has got (i cant spell it) diaroieah (lol) what do i do? i prob wont feed her today? she always has water down..bless her, i thought there nasty smell coming from the WC downstairs (one of the kids had not flushed!) and River had done her business.. i couldnt tell her off but at least she went to the toliet so to speak hahah...shes a clever sausage..

Let her get it out of her system, whatever it may be. If you have a little ginger this may help to settle her tummy. I would say no food for 24 hours. Sounds harsh I know.

Poor river hope she gets better soon, no food for a day should clear it up, let us know how she is tommorow

Heres hoping River feels better soon. Such a good girl 'using' the loo.

starve her for 24 hours and make sure she drinks plenty. take her to the bowl or bring the bowl to her if you have to. poor girl we all know how you feel that smell is disgusting. lemmy just feeling better today after his bout of it

im glad Lemmy is better bless him. i am gonna starve her.. she looking around for food already 5 is her feed time.and she keeps looking at me and her food cupboard is amazing how quick they learn.. she seems ok in herself. she just coming for more cuddles than normal. and she has drunk loads. still playing with her ball well whats left of it haha.. thank you for replys.

least she does it in the downstairs toliet which is washable flooring not carpet..at at least its the toliet haha...she is sleeping now:( hopefully she will be ok tomorrow. thank you all for your concern.

Awww poor river hope she is ok tomorrow. It's hard starving them especially when they don't understand why you are starving them. But it is for the best and hopefully she will be better tomorrow!

If you can get tinned pumpkins give her that it stops the runs in dogs...

how hold is River ? plenty of fresh water available then introduce small meals little and often prefereably boiled chicken and brown rice its gentle on there stomach hun

i dont think you can buy tinned pumpkin here...lol@ julie and i will whack some chicken out the freezer tonight and go buy some brown rice for her tomorrow. by brown do you mean wholegrain?? or is it brown.. i just do the boil in the bag uncle ben's malarchy hahah.. do i give it to her in the morning or at normal meal time (which is 5pm)

she has not gone to the toliet anymore, so maybe her system just needed a clearout... she is sulking cos i cant feed her

white rice is ok but brown is better but yeah just plain brown rice boiled hun if she has stopped with the runs hun you can give her some in the morning and give little and often through out the day xx

Hope she is doing better. I would also withold food for the day to let it sort itself out.

Hope River is feeling better Ledger was sick a few times a few weeks back including on me in bed! so I didn't give him anything in the morning and in the evening I just chucked some brown rice in the microwave before his walk and by the time we got home it was just about done I didn't have any chicken so tried some tinned tuna which he loved although as staffys go he does appear to tolerate more diet wise than some

Next time buy a bit of pumpkin, mash it, add pure honey and feed it to River, it does wonders.

hi all well she has been out for a medium sized walk this morning, and she seems ok now, so just doing some brown rice and chicken for her. if all goes well we are taking her over to a massive park later, think i will prob keep her on her lead thou, her recall seems good in the house and when she goes outside the front door, but i think it might be different where there is a whole new place to sniff and discover..

just came on to see how she is this morning. thats great thats she's doing ok. hope you have a nice time at the park

just an update, river is back to herself..and she just ate a bowl of brown rice and chicken .. and went back to see if she missed any lol... thank you for all your advice and concern.
