Dog Friendly Holidays - recommendations
Hi all , seen there are lots of dog friendly sites on the tinternet but looking for some personal recommendations. We are looking to travel to Devon / Cornwall at Easter for 5 nights , self catering so cottage or maybe caravan, need to be nearish to a pub and preferably nearish to a beach to get Tilly a bit of sand time, does anyone have any ideas where they have been ?? Thanks everyone

Sorry I cannot personally recommend anywhere, but some of these places look OK

The last two I have just looked at and seem to have what you are looking for, Beesands Cottages and Croft View Terrace. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Re: Dog Friendly Holidays - recommendations
We went somewhere on holiday to cornwall to a lovely dog friendly cottage, 5 minutes walk away from the beach. It was so nice there, and the area was very dog friendly too which was great. But I am afraid it was years ago, with an ex and I have no idea what the cottage was called, or even the place we stayed. No help really then, sorry!

Re: Dog Friendly Holidays - recommendations
we have a tourer caravan we go away in its great cos we bget to take the dogs and odnt have to worry about kennels or sitters. my dogs are with me all the time so i know if they are neglected its my own fault anyway we always check out this site. you can put in your preferences for places and things like site ameneties etc and it will show you where they all are. most have links through to the camps websites or you could just go to it yourself anyway great internet site hope you find somewhere. oh and you dont have to sign up to it like it says just go to the maps

i love my caravan. i get a fridge magnet from each place we go and stick it on the wall above the cupboard doors in the van. lemmy gets tethered outside and the walks and beaches around the country are lovely. plenty exercise for us and this year we have 2 dogs so lemmy will have a play mate on the beach. nothing like waking up to the sound of the sea and then walking across a deserted beach watching the dog running free with no lead and no worries

Don't go any further ...please !! Let's just say the decision to sell the caravan wasn't mutual , it was hard work at times due to Jo's business (she's a childminder so getting time to sort things out prior to departure wasn't always easy. We got Tilly away in it once as the caravan was bust last year when we got her (that was why we took the plunge so we had min 6 months to get her a bit of training and have an idea where we stood with her) Tilly loved it as she was either chilling outside or getting walked pretty much non stop

Try this one...

I went to school with Sue Jewell & she's a lovely lady - she has loads of dogs so she knows what people need for a holiday with dogs. She's in Liskeard, Cornwall.

Thanks Caryll , just the kind of recommendation I was looking for , sent an enquiry and se how we get on. There was a thread suggested for this kind of thing (I think your name was on it at some point) to go into "tried and tested" but couldn't find anything

I go camping with Dempsey cause not many places accept dogs. I wouldn't be able to recommend anywhere else!

We got rid of our caravan after 3 years and gonna miss it but we did keep our 2 tents so when the weather is a bit more reliable we will be back to the camping . To be perfectly honest though I do miss the caravan and the comforts I always said that if the weather was good you couldn't beat the tent, we camped for 5 years before we moved on

I was only joking. We keep in touch from time to time. She's a really nice lady, and she loves dogs, well, all animals, really!
