Welcome Lenox :)
Well after a few hours of playing at the guys house kuma and lenox are to say good mate's we agreed give it a week and if he has settled in fine a will keep him ful term.. few things ad like to be certain of but?
1. back was turned when we got him home he tryd mounting kuma.. so pulled him off and told a firm NO ! ano its normal but if so a take it having them both de tubed would stop this..
and also he hasn't been near woman a apparently after a was told he was been givin away due to a pregnancy but never mind he looks healthy and will be at my vet at the weekend fir the once over..
any tips to helping him settle would be good , have noticed he wouldn't eat my treats or a meal a put down in the last half an hour..
a do no that feed kuma 1st as she comes first in the pecking order
any info thanks guys ( Never mind my spelling a can read it all fine )

Re: Welcome Lenox :)
Getting them neutered might not stop him trying to mount Kuma. It's also a dominance thing & bitches do it too! However, I think at least one of them should be done to avoid the obvious!
He's probably not eating cause he's confused at being with you. It'll take him a while to settle & he might seem a little nervous for a while. Just try to act normally around him, don't show him too much sympathy because he'll pick up on it & it'll worry him more.
The pics you showed look like he's a strong healthy lad, but you'll obviously need to get your vet to look him over, especially if you're going to get him neutered.
Best of luck!

I'd seperate them at night if you can, better safe than sorry. I would always seperate dogs when they can't be supervised.

Awww bless you got another and he looks a lovely lad
All whats going on is normal he is its all play practice and dominance. Are you not breeding her now you have another.
You will get to no your own dogs I would not leave them together just yet give them chance to get to know each other. My 2 sleep together they respect each other never had any trouble with any of them I hope you will get the same with your 2

You no lots of animals dogs included can encourage the female to come into heat by showing mating skills. He may just be seeing if his luck comes in I would not worry she will not let him mate her if she not ready and he will soon get the message she will tell him off its all just provadoseany boy wrote:nah if al works out a wnt breed them but see huw we are in a week cant have him mounting hur

Re: Welcome Lenox :)
Well done on taking him in - he looks a lovely lad.
When we got Bella, Teddy was really pleased to have a play mate but after a couple of days he realised she was staying and looked really put out for a few days but now they're the best - so don't be suprised if Kuma does the same.

Re: Welcome Lenox :)
ah right was kuma telling him off? As long as he was neutred and there was no chance of a mating and they were always separated when u were not around then would it matter? And if kuma and you told him off then he would soon learn.....
Anyway well done 4 trying to take him on lol x

No, it won't always stop them. Humping isn't always about mating, it's often to do with diminance - even bitches will do it.

Some don't learn. If he's used to mating, then he may never give up. If that's the case, one day Kuma will get the right hump with him & there could be a fight.
Never mind seany, you did your best & he still has a good home.
