Sometimes a few drops of Rescue Remedy in there bowl helps other than that if he is really bad you can get a mild sedative from the vets
Our old Lab used to be petrified and used to try and dig him self out of the kitchen through the kitchen wall poor lad it can be so terrifying for them.

Re: Billy cowering in the bedroom
Hope he was ok last night!
We also had an eventful night, one I hadn't predicted as Tinkerbell is fine with fireworks to the extent she will go out and watch them. But my 2 year old son woke loads last night and kept coming in to tell us he was scared of "big bangs". He finally nodded off in his bed, and he has now woke this morning asking where the fireworks are.

Nah , don't b tough and give him a big cuddle, we've suffered 2 trashed quilts now on fireworks night , our old boy a Border Collie Cross we got some valium off the vet and gave him half a tab and he chilled out completely and peed on the quilt , so New Year we soldiered through it and he bricked it and peed on the quilt
Tilly was very jumpy last year but ok whan there was no noise to let her out for a wee, but then a firework went off outside and she was back in like a greyhound out of a trap.
We bought her a Thundershirt a couple of months ago mainly for the car (with not brilliant results so far but improved) Put it on her last night and she didn't flinch a bit , but she did go into super lazy mode to get her to go out for a wee, not fighting it just couldnt be bothered, its definitely worth a shot.

Re: Billy cowering in the bedroom
Vlad didn't care. He looked up at one point but went straight back to sleep... I think he was annoyed at being woken. Slept the entire night. He woke up at 8.15 this morning and barked to be let outside for a pee! Only once has he been "distressed" by a big crack of thunder but we really think the noise just shocked him awake and he settled. We think we will invest in a "Thundershirt" just in case this does change.

Poor Billy. Tyson was ok but I had a problem with Endo the bull dog. Ty seemed to have calmed him down though and we got through it.

Re: Billy cowering in the bedroom
We had idiots setting off fireworks just outside where we live last night. Some people have no brains what so ever. Rocky gets very stressed out by them. We just stay with him and try to calm him.
