Is it bad...

That I treat Ollie more like a Son, then a pet? I mean he does have discipline, and he knows wrong from right, but I'm very affectionate over him and fuss over him. Like am I doing something wrong by doing that?

Not at all =) .. i call mine my furry babies =) .. theyre most deffo my son and daughter and im only 22! haha =P .. mom always says, one day when you have kids and i always stop her and say my kids will always be 4 legged HAHA

No! Its only me and Moo at home, I've never wanted kids so it will stay me and Moo, quite normal

Why have a pet if you don't fuss over them! As long as it doens't go as far as getting them a pram to save their little legs from walking.

Also, you had him to be part of the family, so treat him like a member of the family, if you don't, i'll have him, I don't mind

Zac is my little boy, I fuss and spoil him but he knows how far he can go and his place in the 'pack' lol .... He loves to be picked up and cuddled and kissed, and he snuggles right in and goes to sleep in my arms

Theres nothing wrong with that at all, as long as he's well trained and well mannered! I must admit, although i love my boys 2 death i think that compared to some people on the forum mine are treated more as dogs if u get what i mean. My dogs are loved and well cared for etc but they no thier place and thats the way i like it, it may sound mean 2 some of you lol but as far as i am concerned they are most definatley at the the bottom of the pecking order and the thought of them on my furniture etc fills me with horror! They dont no any better tho so thats fine with them.....

Better that than the other way. We call Rocky our hairy baby. Heaven knows there are enough that are mistreated I don't think you can show your pet too much affection.

My little girl who isn't so little (12) always looks put out when I tell her there's no room on the couch for a cuddle as it belongs to me and Tilly now, Tilly is the baby of the family and will always be treat so. Jenny has to bribe Tilly to get off my lap so she can have her daddy and daughter time. She is very loved by all 3 of us and our neighbours and evryone else around us , Jo (my wife) is a childminder and al the kids and parents love her to bits - so is she spoilt - MOST DEFINITELY !! does it do her any harm - DEFINITELY NOT !!! Only thing I think we've done is to turn her into a complete coward , but I won't complain about that as I wouldn't want her to be aggresive.

Tyson will always be my baby boy but like a child he does need boundries for his well being as much as mine.

He has his bounderies, but he is like a son rather then a dog, when people ask "Have you got any children?" I say "Yes, two, Phoebe and Ollie, they are a cat and a dog though haha"

I have four kids and my dogs also get treated like one of the family. Every now and then I even call him son. They are the only ones of my kids I can spoil without ruining them for life.
