Does anyone know how or if it's possible to cut and paste a PDF file into a word document so that you can edit it?

I think you can with some, but not others. I believe there's something the original writer can do to disable right-click.

Not right now. I'm changing jobs and have to do a resume but all the files are on my work computer. I could retype all of my evaluations but just trying to see if there is an easier way

If you have full adobe (I do) normally you can do this unless the document has been secured, only an offer but if you want send it to me and I will try , at least take all of the text so you can play with it.
Generally I always do the word doc then pdf it for security , but always keep the word doc for editing. Only time its really difficult is if the text was part of a screenshot.
I can understand you may want to keep your privacy but the offers there if you want it Smile

Another thing that often works , if you highlight the text try Ctrl-C (copy) and Ctrl-V (paste) , this will often work when you don't get the "right click" options for text and stuff , just a thought

Still haven't gotten around to it. We are working half days and I spend most of my time in meetings. I'm trying my best not to have to work at home during the holidays.

Know what you mean , I was a service eng 6 months ago and if I was on holiday they sent somebody else, now all I've got to look forward to when I go back are a huge pile of emails and an equally huge pile of voicemails.

You may be able to use the snipping tool as explained below, I don't know for certain maybe worth a try.

For those who need to take a snapshot of what is on their screen in Windows 7:
Click the start button
Click in Accessories
Select the 'Snipping Tool'

as soon as you select this tool, the screen will go slightly opaque (it will grey out).
you will have a cross-hair cursor in front of you, and you left-click and drag this to cover the area you wish to capture - you can start anywhere, when you finish dragging, you will have created a new image.

If the image is ok, choose File> Save As, and give it a name. If it isn't quite right, just select File> new capture to start again.

The Snipping tool isn't included in previous versions of Windoze but it may be possible to use a third-party equivalent, just be careful to download from a reputable site.

It sounds more confusing than it is, even I can do it !!

That was the first thing I was going to suggest, but then realised the original poster wants to be able to edit what is copied..

Snipping tool will obviously just save as an image. (great tool though, find myself using it all the time!!)

Another option is if you have a scanner that can scan to word doc. I have one that doest this. You can scan any printed type and it will import it to a word doc. I always have to go clean up the artifacts but it gets the type in and often there aren't too many artifacts. Usually then I can copy/paste the portions I actually want.

The snipping tool can work if the fonts match and you format in such a way .jpg files won't look terrible. Otherwise you may be stuck typing the parts you like or including the reviews via .jpg as attachements. Kinda depends on the job whether that is acceptable or not.
