Hello all
My names Simon i i live in doncaster hope everyone is well...
Ive lived with dogs from being born for 22 years of my life i have had old english sheepdogs but i moved out my mums house a year ago waited about 4 months and i felt something was missing from me then it hit me i didnt have a companion... so i looked into getting a family pet and someone was getting rid of a six month old staffy so i decided yeah ill take him onboard... ive had Buster for 6 months now love the dog to bits he like my right hand man..
The only problem i have with the dog is he is full of beans all the time i can take him for a 2 hour walk and he still has energy in him im more nackerd then him.
Im wanting to have a little help with training him he sits for me no problem with or without a treat he gives me both his paws and ive taught him to jump up and give me 5 with both paws which i think is well cool, about 70% of time when i take him for a walk he comes back wen off the lead but 30% of time he ignores me unless i turn my back and walk away if he sees another dog i aint got a chance of him coming back to me. i aint giving up on him i want him to lisen to my commands i give him and i would like it if i could walk him without the lead (side by side), he loves to make love to me alot aswell (but for some reason he only does it wen he knows ive got my slippers on i kno its silly but it kinda gets annoying)
Thats mostly it carnt fault him in any other way.....

Re: New Member
welcome from me and my girls Kita & Izzy.
I'm assuming you took him to puppy school/dog training when he was young...?
Mine are chalk and cheese. and on some days.
The older one (Kita) was not formerly trained etc but has always walked next to my side without a lead and never has bolted or bothered with other dogs etc. I think I was blessed with my first staffy
Izzy on the other hand went to "dog obedience training" & passed with flying colours, but if she wants to "bolt" and not "recall" she will, even now at 2 years old (she actually only started doing this at 12 months of age). I sometimes wonder if I will ever stop having to go back to basic training with her, but at the moment I can only hope!!
Other than that, she is an angel.
If nothing else is working, go back to basic training, reinforce and be consistent with everything you are teaching him.

Hello
All I can add is training will help but all in all the personality and temperment of every dog is individual and what one will do the other will not you just have to embrace his positives and hope together you can compromise on any negatives
