Tyson's Family Empty Tyson's Family

Post by Guest Tue Dec 06 2011, 20:23

Had a real look at Tyson's papers as I have never really cared. His registered name is Tedi of Howards End. Please tell me what the HD code refers to. I see that his great grand mother was imported to SA:CH & CH(USA)Crossbow Classy Amy Andaney HD00 - any relatives in USA maybe?

Ty's father: CH Stapphire Fayan Mist HDA2-A2

Hey, I see that his father's maternal grandfather is also his mother's father??? Surely this cannot be good and if so why is it allowed by th KUSA?

In my opinion thats okay!!!! what the breeder is doing is reintroducing a flash of bloodline back into the line to keep it strong.
This practice is called line breeding dont think of it in human terms its not it just keeps all the good and quality in the pups instead of outcrossing with other lines and loosing the quality.
You wouldnt breed close like mother /son brother/sister thats not good but a tie in the pedigree is a sure sign the breeder has thought about keeping quality there.
Hope it makes sence to you ,others may not agree though Smile

I agree with gem, although there are plenty here who won't! Big Grin

I would think that the HD probably refers to a Hip Dysplasia score. ie HD00 means that the hips are perfect on both hindquarters (nil, nil) as the higher the number the less perfect the hips are. I'm afraid I don't know what the HDA2-A2 means. The numbers could be a hip score, with each hip showing a score of 2, but I'm not sure what the A refers to.

If you want, I'll ask a lady on a GSD forum I use - she knows about hip scores from several countries & she may recognise it.

Little update from my friendly GSD mine of genetic information...

The HD00 and HDA2-A2 are both ways of grading hips. Under KUSA grading 0-0 is perfect hips and A2-A2 is considered 'good'.

Lynne, Monte also has lots of SA bloodlines. I bet if cross-ref, Tyson and Monte could be related. Big Grin

It would be lots of fun! Monte has Thorax, Azzurra, Ringmaster, Thorax, Lacklyle and Ringleader blood that I know of from his ped. Any of those in the lines of Tyson?

His Great Grandfather on the dam side is Ringmaster Van Diemen. I also see he has a Great Grandma who was a US Champion Crossbow Classy Amy Andaney

Usually if you google a specific dog you can find more lineage. Ringleader seems to be a good starting point as they both have it at Grandparents level.

Read that page especially about the exporting of Ringmaster studs to US. Both Monte and Tyson come from the Ringmaster Line. I am going to write the kennel Union here to get the further back generations on Tyson. Damn sure they are related even remotely it is still amazing.

Agreed. Monte's Graddad was guns n roses and makes Booker T his great great Graddad. That puts an even higher likelihood. This is really fun!
