You too jstaff! Our Turkey is dry brined and awaiting the roaster! It is still one day away for me, but we are well on our way! Hope all is well and you get a huge Turkey hangover!

Our oven is way to small to fit a turkey in so we cheated and bought one from Popeyes. It's almost noon here so we are going to eat in an hour or so

We will be making ourselves a delicious breakfast, then hiking with the dogs, then going out to eat and then coming home and watching movies.

Happy thanks giving guys.
just a Q... I know you have the big meals for thanks giving with the turkey and stuff, but do you do the same again at Christmas? we always have a big stuff-yourself lunch at Christmas and then every one sleeps the afternoon away!

The tradtional meal at Christmas, in most parts of the country is ham. Not as big of a meal as Thanksgiving though

Suki even managed to grab herself a hunk of turkey off of the shelf. We had a couple of guests over and she more or less behavied herself.

haha we had a big ham at Christmas last year and our dog managed to pull it out of the outdoor fridge. I caught him with it chewing on it in the drive way haha

We tried very hard to keep Suki from getting any of the turkey but she still managed to steal a snack

Thanksgiving is an American holiday when we remember all we have to be thankful for. It was started in order to commemorate the first Thanksgiving the pilgrims celebrated with the Indians who showed them how to plant crops and who helped them make it through the first harsh winter. The second fall they had an abundant harvest and the celebrated and gave thanks with a festival of thanks to God lasting 3 days. However, it wasn't celebrated annually until President Lincoln made it a national holiday to be celebrated the fourth Thursday of each November. It also serves to kickoff the Christmas holiday here in the US.
