Straight Face Hi Guys im new to here, Recently my girl had 11 pups for her first, the pups are now nearly 5 weeks old and one pup has a over shot top jaw, i have been reading up on it and some ppl say that coz he is so young he could out grow it, but i think its pretty bad, im curious to know if he will grow out of it, all the other pups seem fine, he eats and laps and tugs on a rope and does not seem to have any problems, any advice would be great,[img][/img]

lemmy seemed to have a funny jaw when he was a baby it was only visible when you looked at him in a certain position. now he seems to have a bottom lip like a sulky kid sometimes but the jaw itself is fine now.

I guess you will have to wait and see,as they grow sometimes it will correct itself other times it won't.
I had a bitch pup years ago who had a perfect mouth as a pup when her second teeth came in within a week she went undershot.

It doesn't look too bad to be honest, he will probably grow into it a bit more though he might always have a slightly undershot botton jaw. If he is eating and drinking fine and isn't losing any weight i wouldn't worry it too much. mention it to the vets when yuo take him for his vaccinations.

The pics don't really show just how far overshot he is. If it's just a small amount the chances are the jaw could correct itself as the bones form properly. If it's a lot, then it'll probably always be over.

It's often a sign of an over long muzzle, coupled with a weak underjaw, but it's hard to say from the pics.

Do you have any that show the bottom teeth as well as the top?

It doesn't look so bad to me, I don't think there is much you can do about it. He may not end up being perfect, but he is certainly precious!
