Kim and Aggie Tip
for all those of you out there with a leather sofa heres a tip to cleaning it cheaply. a bar of soap and a face cloth or bit of a towel with another towel to dry it off. i saw it on How Clean s Your House one day and it works better than leather cleaner and is cheaper.
i left the dogs in the room this morning while i did the kitchen floor and when i went back in the room was upsifde down. cuhons on the floor rug at the other side of the room from where it started and the sofas were black.
well with the rotten winter wet weather no one expects floors and things to stay clean for long but a cheaper alternative to cleaning them is great. try it honeastly. if the soap is good enough for your skin then it should be good enough for a cows cos thats what leather is really SKIN

I haven't got a leather sofa - Dempsey would have eaten it! But that sounds a really good tip!

Yes, brush it with a clean dog brush lol but one with the balls on the ends of it so you dont pluck it. works on some sofas!

Very funny Julie... so glad my house is not the only disaster zone. Rainy season here and everything stays neat and tidy for about 5 minutes after letting Tyson in

Hairspray is another good leather cleaner - especially for things like ballpoint pen right across the seat cushion!
What I need is a good tip for cleaning cream carpets ruined by filthy dog feet so far, my best tip regarding this is 'get a dark brown carpet'.

I've always used a lint roller. Works but takes a bit of time. I keep our sofa covered now to avoid the hassle

I use a rubber glove to get hair off a fabric chair. Sadly my leather sofa is beyond help, my adorable furry babies managed to scrape all the leather in no time

I do cover it and it still seems to appear to get everywhere, I think its because she is light and the sofa is black, not even had it 3 years and it looks a right state!

Re: Kim and Aggie Tip
Not a big issue for me since I've learned to live with it. The only reason I bother is our furniture is government issued so we have to keep it reasonably clean. Black is always hard though since the hairs stand out.

I use baby wipes on our sofas seems to get them clean, and great for muchy hand prints from the children.
I have the same with the carpet too, we had a black one fitted when we moved in to hide the dirt from kids dropping food etc. We should really have got a black dog, but not sure if dying Tinkerbell black is classed as animal cruelty Laminate is on the agenda though!
