Hi new here :)
Hi all, my husband & I have just adopted a gorgeous 1year old staffie named 'Lola' she is wonderful, very intelligent and learning very fast!
Do all staffies try to get onto couches/beds?!
We are being firm with her and she is learning
Shes a bit smaller than your average staffie but perfectly formed
She doesnt seem to get on with our 1 yr old hamster though!
She loves scooting on the floor and jumping up.
Any advice on toys/tip for training
Thanks

Hi and welcome from me and Rocky. Rocky will get not only on the bed but in it, and loves cuddles on the sofa. Lola may well be a chewer, if this is the case then lots of chewy toys. Nylabones are good, try the link below

also stuffed Kongs are a good idea. We found that soft stuffed toys didn't last to well. Avoid this link

Good luck and have fun

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. As for training sit down with your husband and decide what the rules are for the dog as well as what commands you will use for training and be consistant and patient.

Re: Hi new here :)
Hi there and Welcome from Me and RoXy.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new addition.
With the training, you need to be consistent and she will learn what you expect from her. Give her time.
My girl was never allowed on the couch until recently, and even now she knows she's only allowed in one particular spot on her blanket.......anywhere else and she gets in trouble.
This is not to say they don't try to push the boundaries, but if you are consistent they DO learn.
Good luck, and once again "Welcome"

Re: Hi new here :)
welcome from me and my girls Kita & Izzy.
Considering she has spent her first year elsewhere, she'll probably come with a few little bad habits, but as the others above have said, be consistent in your training and she will soon learn what is allowed and what's not.
My 14 year old has got worse now as she doesn't see or hear me sometimes and consistency falls on deaf ears.
