New Experience Empty New Experience

Post by Ben Thu Oct 27 2011, 23:50

Most of the people that beg around where I live really only want money for booze or drugs. Today I was shocked when two girls with a mastiff were asking for money outside the coffee shop. They wanted it to buy their dog food. I didn't really believe them so I offered to to take them arround the block to the feed store if they really wanted food for their dog. Even more suprising is the fact that they agreed. I shocked them more though when I insisted they feed their dog a decent kibble at least. I couldn't stand the thought of them feeding him junk if I was going to pay for it. Kinda makes me happy that even when people are down and out they want to take care of their dog. Probably won't last long, but at least he will eat something good for a few days.

That does seem a bit odd but is was a very nice thing of you to do. Hopefully the economy will start to turn around a bit soon.

Yeah, but to my shame I didn't think they would take me up on it. Thought they were using their dog to get drinking or drug money. I hope it turns around too. It is getting to the point where people with degrees are competing for jobs at the coffee shop. None of the teenagers can get a job at all anymore it seems.

Well done, you! I'm sure they were really grateful.....unless they sold the food a few minutes later so they could buy some booze!

What a kind thing to do! Well done you! Like you say a lot of the homeless people round here want money for drink or drugs even when they have a dog with them, so it was nice to see that they genuinely wanted to care for their dog.
