Re: millys diet
What about some fish? Most dogs will dig into that as long as it is raw. Perhaps sardines or something? I think you said raw was totally not something milly was into, but maybe that... I know of one or two who won't touch raw chicken, but go bonkers for fish. Lots of good fatty stuff there.

Make sure there are no bones if you cook it. Cooked fish bones are very bad!

Re: millys diet
How old is she now? Really don't worry, a dog won't let itself starve. Moo can go a couple of days without eating or she'll just pick at it, but when she is hungry she'll eat the whole lot. Try not to pander to her too much. Leave the food down for half hour and if she hasn't eaten take it up. She'll soon twig to what is happening Xx

Re: millys diet
She won't eat because she knows you'll give her exactly what she wants! the trouble is, boiled chicken exclusively won't give her what she needs.
As Janey says, a dog won't let itself starve & when she's good & hungry she'll eat. Just put the food down for a while (I normally make it a limit of 15 minutes, but 30 minutes would be ok if that's what you want) and if she doesn't eat it, pick it up & wait for the next meal time. Also, till she's eating what you want her to, no treats unless you're training!

Re: millys diet
if you boil the chicken then you could cook the pasta in the chicken water it will taste of chicken then. have you tried her on mince or liver (cheaper than chicken)
we used to feed lemmy chicken and pasta, fish and rice, liver and kidney (on its own) and mince and biscuit. our lovely doggies however would sh1t on command for chicken i think

Re: millys diet
At the moment we are struggling to get her to eat her own food. All she seems to want is our food.Mainly chicken,She seems to also like sausages and she will eat lamb strips boiled. But i dont want to feed her this all the time i want her to eat her own foods has well.My other 2 dogs also get chicken etc but they also will eat there own food has well.I have decided i Am not going to give in to her from tomorow we will put her food down.If she turns her nose up at it we will take it away and try again later in the day,Like janey and caryll said she will eat when shes hungry. And she realises they isnt any boiled chicken coming her way

Re: millys diet
Giving her some of your food (within reason) won't harm as long as she eats her own as well! Until she does, I'd not give her anything other than her own food!

Re: millys diet
I agree with Caryll and Janey. If she knows she will get her own way she will continue to be picky. Once she realizes she doesn't have a choice she will eat what you give her.

Re: millys diet
Personally I would even leave out the treats for the time being, and it may not happen overnight but keep being firm. Its not being mean, she will learn but you have to be consistant Xx
