I thought they didn't bark?

Well, the breeder told us these dogs rarely bark - OMG how wrong was he. Chloe can bark for england!!! She barks at:

The Rats - When they play together or Chloe wants their attention
When told off
When she wants attention/play
etc etc etc

Is this normal or have I got a little Diva on my hands???

Staffys can definitely bark ! ( and they can sing too!! )

Jethro barks alot more now he is old, but Winston often barks as well.. he barks when playing with his staffy ball, and if he hears any strange noises, he barks at people walking their dogs when we are in the car.. so yes staffys CAN bark !!

Jack started barking at 3-4 months of age.

Phew . . Really thought we had a 'unique' one on our hands. . I think we should invest in some ear plugs then

They can make an array of strange noises and yes they can certainly bark, usually at 3 in the morning when the fox is outside! Thanks Moo

i thought i had a good un on my hands originally as he didnt bark at all - when he hit 12 months he found his voice!!! whines more than barks most of the time though!

Violet very rarely barks, but when she does, her bark is rubbish! If any other dogs hear it, she's going to end up getting bullied

Billy hardly barks, except at his boomer ball

puppy barking is so funny....and sweet,then it turns into a prper bark that makes you jump......

Think Breeder meaning they don't bark excessive ... like some dogs just bark at anything ... example American Bulldog Male lives next door ..every night at 8:30 pm onwards well bark at nothing ... as Our staffy is quiet .. she bark and carry on during day ... but just playful barks ..

I was so surprised as our last Staffie rarely barked. Paddy is REALLY vocal. From very young too. About 8 weeks he started mouthing off!

Nemo barked for the first time yesterday while playing haven't heard it before I was thrilled. Also he woke him self up and me this night by barking in his sleep

i have never known such a noisey breed of dog. not just the barks but the rest of the noises. makes me laugh at times. i just tell Lemmy to stop shouting at me

God my girls never shut up! If theyre not barking at something outside they are making weird whiney-talkey noises!

Frank barks alot but its always for the same reason, its like a warning hes about to attach your feet .... so its natural now if u hear "WOOF WOOF" you run for a couch!! lol

He doesnt bark at anything else, but he does make alot of other rather strange noises!

Saxon isn't much of a barker, but he does bark during play every once in a while, and it's quite loud when he does! He does do a lot of singing/whining/cackling, too!!

Tyson barked very little when younger but now is inclined to bark at shadows a bit. Vennessa, what is a 'staffy ball'?

Max has found his voice good and proper now, he's only 8 weeks old and he can bark for england too, usually when he's playing with the big dogs he also makes a lot of wierd and wonderful noises too which is so cute

My moms staff barks, or should i say talks. He's such a weirdo dog lol. whenever he tries to talk to you he wags his tail so hard you can hear it whipping off the floor and he tends to walk backward too. So he can start off sittin at your feet barking then end up on the other side of the room against the wall ...He's a nutta!

dont believe everything your told , they are also meant to be notoriously bad swimmers due too there bulk muscle yet my boy shady loves the water and even dives right under for rocks

Bella is the same, barks when she plays, when she wants attention, if i'm not getting her food quick enough or if the older dog is on the couch and she cant get to her lol. She does a strange chirpy noise (only way I can think to describe it) when she wants up for cuddles

Milly has just recently started barking,mainly when my other 2 bark she joins in with them Her bark is very deep she sounds like a big dog

billy cant bark he ends up coughing kya can bark but not alot but ithink its a good thing to have a few woofs to keep unwanted visitors away

Zaya only barks (or talks back) when she gets told "NO" lol.....

We get door bell barks, and skateboard barks! Oh and don't forget the please play with me bark he he he.

milie barks and growls all the time and is only 10 weeks!! puts my 3 1/2yr old to shame!!
