Big cut in paw

I was walking my dog's yesterday and at the end of the walk I went inside normally Duke is the first to go in but not this time .
So I called him and there he was , when he went upstairs there was blood everywhere.
So i checked him and he had a big cut under his paw I cleaned it and put a bandage on it .
I thought he stepped in something sharp like glass I still do btw.
When it happened it was 2 o clock at night.

Today I went to the vet and Duke was an model dog didn't hear him and he sat still even when he got 4 staples and a injection.
So now his paw looks like this :


The strange thing of it al I did not hear him once he did not jelpt at all.

No problem to keep the bandage on he dont even looks at it he's so well behaved he even goes in the bench without asking ;-)

I'd go to the vets and have it checked, although the bandage is very well done, I'm a worrier and you can never be too carefull. Get a nurse to look at it s in my vets they won't charge and certainly gave me peace of mind when Moo did her claw last year. Hope its all ok and he gets better soon Xx

Ouch! skibadee did the same thing on glass though it wasn't as deep. I just cleaned it with hibiscrub and kept it really clean. Then I pushed it back together and kept it bandaged for about 3/4 days whilst keeping an eye out for any infection or swelling. Surpisingly it healed perfectly and now all she has is a little scar!

But I did go to the vet like I said they put 4 staples in his paw .
The bandage can come of tomorrow the staples come out in 10th days
He's on antibiotic for a few days .
