It doesn't rain it POURS !!!!!
As some of you will know from my previous post, Inca has either got ringworm or mites or maybe even an allergic reaction to something !!!... and is currently having Imaverol baths for ringworm (but her fur isn't looking any better)...
Now this has appeared on her toe and her vet reckons it looks like a cyst from either a trauma to it or maybe a foreign body but that it might need lancing & draining under sedation !!!! ..
She isn't keen on having her feet touched as it is but i can tell she is flinching when i try to check it out.. it's actually getting bigger by the day.. We noticed it 2 days ago and thought it would just dissappear on its own but soon realised it wasn't shifting so we are taking her back the vets tomorrow to get it checked (maybe something like a grass seed or thorn maybe).. Am going to ask aswell about her fur and see if it could be an allergy to something .. Will keep you all informed...

Oh poor Inca, again!!
Out of interest how is your relationship with your vets?? I only ask because of my firsts skin, like Inca I was so worried. Everytime I went it cost a small fourtune. Scraps and so on, have said b4.
I changed vets, and now I always see a nurse first, (for smaller things) at my vets they don't charge me for simple things and because we now have a good relationship, it doesn't cost half as much.
Xx

I am able to email him pics of how inca is going with her fur and whether i need to bring her in and many a time he gives me advice and opinions either via the phone or email's and he doesn't really charge me full amounts for things but i might check to see about seeing a nurse 1st..

I am the same with vets dont know that I trust them half the time Id seriously shop around and find one you trust. Im saying this cause of my last visit to mine and my boy had a lump on his ear she frightened the life out me and said at first it was probably cancer then changed her mind and told me to moniter it for a while but consider getting it removed under anesthetic and its completelygone fur grown back and everything.
A few years ago I took my girl who has a small non cancerous tumor on her eyelid I agreed to have it removed cost of nearly £300 it was back within 6 months and they wanted to do it again but take some of her eyelid I havent no way its cosmetic and not harming her im not putting her through that for the sake of it, some vets will have you testing for this that and the other yearly jabs that the dogs dont need you have to question do some really care about animal wellfare... ranting on again sorry

Re: It doesn't rain it POURS !!!!!
To me it appears to be an interdigital cyst. My very first staffie used to suffer from them, and its very common in certain breeds due to the hair covered webbing between toes. Its not actually a cyst as we think of it. Unless its been caused by grass seed or something causing an infection, these can keep reoccuring and be a right nuisance. My dog was treated with prednisilone (steroid tabs). If it does prove to be an infection it is more easily treated. I think it can also be connected to mange. Trying googling canine interdigital cyst.
Either way I truly hope Inca is better very soon.

Poor Inca
It's horrible when are pets are not 100% and we don't know straight away what it actually is and the best way to treat it. I hope you and your vet are able to get everything sorted out soon.

My dog had exactly the same not long after we had him from the kennels .. he had it operated on the same time as he was castrated so he didnt have to have two things done at seperate times and stress him out even more.
his was exactly like that and was a cyst, they cut down the middle dug it all out and stuck 2-3 stitches in it .. it healed up and was back to normal in about 2-3wks.
i do have a pik of his somewhere, if i can find it il post it
