First topic message reminder :

Hello my name is Magnus and I'm about to be a staffordshire bull terrier owner (within weeks) I have had bull terriers and german shepherds for most of my life som im quite acustomed to dogs.
I'm 27 years old and i live with my girlfriend of 7 years in denmark in a house.

I joined this site to work out the kinks of being a staffy owner and finding usefull information .

However I have not yet decided if i go with a bitch or a male-staffy.
I would be very glad if you guys could post some pro's and cons, I usually take care of my parrents (bitch)dog when they go on holidays for weeks at the time so at the moment I'm weighing towards a male.

I can't.. I absolutely can't!.. Well he was quite expensive 1300euros but his father is a champion in Scandinavia and Luxembourg so he's quite the pedigree dog it seems. Might use him for breeding if he turns out great.

I'm online-shopping for a collar what size would fit a grown staffie male?

Only had girls and all Staffies differ so much. Also have a rescue so isn't quite the same build as a ped Staff Xx

Today we went out and got a few toys, even found a Kong treat dispenser at my local petworld, a few bags of puppy chow, dry and canned. We already bought a leash and a collar a few weeks ago.

At this point I'm so excited I can't seem to get any rest, we will be going tomorrow around noon lets hope I can sleep tonight. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas eve again

i think u did well choosing a male as well seeing as u have your mums bitch alot i think it will work out easier

now if only i could sleep too excited

So using a cardboard box as a temporary bed has served me well in the past, containing the puppy and making it easy to place him by our bed. Clearly this method stands no odds against a staffy who decides to eat his temporary sleeping arrangements. Haha
