Good article. I don't personally believe banning a breed or type is the answer and is simply a government reaction to media coverage and attempting to "do something". The solution should be controlling and monotoring who the handlers are. Sadly I don't think it will happen.

Education is very important. If the handlers understood the breed before getting them things would be better. If they are trained and exercised properly they are no problem.

There was actually a picture in the newspaper that showed and listed the physical differences between a staffy and a pit bull. I agree that breeds shouldn't be banned, but society should know the difference between them before making a rash judgement on a breed that is nothing like the other. This article was front page today and my husband couldn't wait to show me when he came home with the papers this morning Tongues

I agree education is the key. It's peoples ignorance that causes most, if not all, of the problems in the first place.
