REM - split up

i love this band, i will miss them

I have there best of album they produced some cracking songs x

I could not adam & eve it, i have all there albums it's a sad day when good band's call it a day.

I have all their albums & many, many bootlegs, videos & even a film that Michael Stipe acted in!! My all time fav band, and Stipe's my all time fav singer.

But I knew it was coming, just a matter of the timing. Their last album was the last contracted one with Warners, and & knew they wouldn't commit themselves to so many more. I couldn't see them doing anything else after the last one.

They're all over 50 now - Michael's the youngest at nearly 52, Peter's the oldest at, I think, 57. They've said all along that they didn't want to end up like the Rolling Stones, so it was inevitable.

But OMG I'll miss them.

Sorry but I thought they split up years ago. Have'nt heard anything from them in years. Man on the moon was last song I heard I think.

I saw them twice when they came to Manchester. once in 2004 and again in 2009.their last album wasn't much crack though,not like their old stuff at all. Still they were a brill band.

Good grief - where ya been? They released an album this year & one 2 years ago. Plus they toured 2 years ago.

The albums have changed, but then they would do - nobody stays that famous by staying the same for 30 years! I actually thought the last two albums were pretty good.
