Cash n Carry

Hi,

I went shopping for Dude today at our local Chinese cash and carry. I was surprised at the variety of goodies available, as I have been shopping there for ten years and not really noticed all the suitable food for dogs on a raw diet. For example I picked up some pigs tails, meaty bones, ribs, chicken paws, pigs trotters, stomach, liver, kidney, backbone and tongue. There were other bits, frozen and fresh birds and fish. Thought it may be useful for those that don't have a dedicated butchers near to them, but maybe a Chinese store. The Dude is happy enough as he's been gnawing on a big meaty backbone for the last couple of hours

Because of the many tainted toys and foods to come out of China, I would be weary of buying raw food at a Chinese Shop. A few years back there the Chinese sold dog food ingredients that were tainted with lead to the US. All different brands were effected, not just the cheap ones. Thousands of dog's died, including my family's Chocolate Lab.


EDIT: It was a chemical called melamine, not lead. I'm very sorry to hear that. So much sub standard and duff gear does come out of China. Ninety percent is not even available to the Chinese. Although the food in the C&C is human grade and meant for restaurant and takeaways. It's cleaned and prepared, and I have sorted and packed it in to the freezer.

I buy a lot of my food from my local chinese supermarket and have done for ages, it's the only place i can get certain foods

I'm a SE Londoner. Dude done his first semi runner tonight. He gets real excited with strangers, and was happy to walk off with a couple of maintenance guys. He normally stays within a six foot radius and watches me most off the time. But this time he totally ignored me.

Ive recently started buying mine raw bones and pigs livers but i boil them before i give them to them im worried they are going to get upset tummies from raw meat with them having bacteria present
