Hello from Khaleesi

I just found out my "jack russell/pitbull mix" was really a staffordshire terrier. I used Wisdom Panel DNA testing and was surprised. She is a small girl, 20lbs at almost 6months. She shot up in height in the last week or so, she is 15" to her shoulder. The results said one of her great grandparents was a mix breed but they could not identify what type. Is her height and weight about right for an AMStaff at 6months? (she may be more like 25 lbs by her 6 month birthday). Anyways, she is the joy in our lives and we love her however big or small she ends up.

i watch something before about DNA testing your dogs and they said type's of dog are so closely related they cant tell you what breed they are so it just a money making schemes but that was a while ago things could of changed.

The American Staffordshire Terrier (AmStaff) is basically the same breed as the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT). They have identical breed histories and they are so similar that there are dogs dual registered as AmStaffs in the AKC and APBTs in the UKC. So, AmStaff = Pit Bull. DNA tests at this point in time are not very accurate at identifying breeds, most can't even ID pure bred dogs.

Thanks for the welcome! I did get the name from King of Thrones! I am starting to doubt the DNA test. You all are probably right, it is not as accurate as they claim. She is a little over 6 months and only 25 lbs. I feel like thats small for an amstaff or pitbull. I got my a pretty lil runt.
