My savage "Pitbull" Empty My savage "Pitbull"

Post by Skye86 Fri Sep 09 2011, 17:57

Well, on a nice little walk in the park today my partner encoutered another first class moron!
Some woman with a "Heinz 57" (off the lead) approached Skye, to which her thing started squaring up to my poor little 4 1/2 month old, who obviously wanted to play! The un-educated TWIT started shouting at her dog "Don't start on THAT, it's a pitbull!"

My fella had a few choice words for her, to say the least!

But hey, I thought I'd include a couple of pics of my vicious little BANNED breed Big Grin

This is Skye MAULING my horrified son...

Don't start on that, it's a pitbull - as if it's okay to start on a dog that wouldn't be able to stick up for itself in a fight... Rolling Eyes

Great idea Lynne, might also incorporate it into a stylish umberella and raincoat for Skye for the upcoming Autumn months Laughing

I'm sorry, but looking at that 1st pic I'm going to have to report you to the NSPCC and the RSPCA. angry

Don't you see the danger there? Don't you see the evil in the eyes? Can't you understand that your son is obviously terrified of Skye, and she's about to eat him? Surprised

Too late...........the 3rd pic is obviously what's left of your son. RIP. Tongues

Don't understand why people have this mythical terrible image of the pitbull. Its just a dog, just like any other, not even the largest or fiercest or even the strongest.
Yet you say the word pitbull and people conjour up hellish images of screaming children running crying from a huge draconic beast dragging innocent women into his slavering maw with a robotic jaw that clanks shuts and never opens, steam rising from its ears and eyes glazed red with fury. The very picture of an evil unstoppable killing machine.
Its only a dog...not the terminator...
And yet they were once the most trusted and the most beloved of all the dog breeds. What went wrong? Because it sure as hell hasn't been the BREED thats changed.

Lovely pics and thanks for sharing.

I think that the sterotype stems from two reasons. The first is the media. They seem to focus on bad news stories and that is what gets peoples attention.

The second reason is that there are alot of irresponsible owners. Peolpe will get a pit because they think it is a status symbol and encourage them to be aggressive. This results in the dog doing something the media picks up on and the cycle keeps repeating itself angry

Probably because he's a lovely looking fella Smile

But yes, it IS the ignorance of the other people and it generally doesn't help when you explain she's a Staffy, as there's a stigma attatched to them too due to idiots wanting them to make them look "hard".

It's sad really Sad

Your dog is the cutest!
people like this really anger me, and unfortunatly there are alot of them.

Staffys are such cute, bubbly bundles of fun, i havnt ever met one that hasnt been a great dog.
I even managed to change a friends ways/beliefs on staffys, buy unexpectedly bringing her along when i went to pick my friend up, now shes totally changed on the subject of them.
