how does your dog deal with the heat

due to a bit of a heat wave having in bristol at mo and living above a reptile shop it very hot in my flat
buster is panting a lot more at the mo
is there any thing worthg doing to help cool him down
what do you lot do when its hot

We got Suki a collar that has an ice pack that you can put inside so she is not as hot. Normally my better half will wake up early and take her to the dog park before it gets too hot and we will take her out for her second walk in the evening.

Harvey doesn't like going for a walk if it's to warm, although he will sit and sunbathe all day if i let him

buster not to bad when he is out but at home gets to hot

Jemma jus spends most of the time sleeping lol

Suki does like to go outside and sunbathe though

we get the hose pipe out and play games, or a childrens swimming pool for him to lie in

zena loves the sun just lays on grasd but with blade i cant take him out for long in sun he goes pink lol

my just drop on the kichen floor and just lay there for hours

Mines a sun worshipper, doesn't effect her at all, which suits me because I love the sun shine! If your having a mini heat wave send it here pleeeeeeeeeeas

i think its just because the flat like a sweat box at night in the day he seems ok with the heat

Drake loves the heat,he goes out on the deck and sun bathes all the time,I always make him come in after a while though He hates going for walks when it's really hot out,but here are some things you can try that I do with Drake.

-I make sure that Drake has cold water available always (inside and outside)
-I brush him to get off any dead hair that could be holding heat to him
-I give Drake access to the walk-in closet since it is a cool,and dark place for him to cool off in the house
-I give Drake frozen water bottles to roll around or hold onto,which is very entertaining for him and keeps him cool
-I walk him early in the morning before temperatures start rising to the highest
-I also fill up a spray bottle with cool water and spray him lightly when he seems hot (he likes it but other dogs may not)

Those are some suggestions

I'm just outside of Bristol and we have been having lovely weather up until today. I take Harry out earlier in the mornings and later at night when its cooler. During the day he is quite lazy and quieter than usual, shame its only temporary

Vinnie would sun bathe in it all day! lol and skye would! .. vinnie goes off his food a bit in the heat tho' .. i try and get them out of the sun for shade a few times for a bit to cool off .. i also got them a paddling pool for them to play in and they have ice from the freezer etc

if your flat is to hot try a fan it my help the air in the flat a bit are last house was like an oven and we fitted celing fans it helped a bit

I walk mine early morning and late afternoon when the weather is sunny to help keep them happy.
